Mom calls

You're in the living room, still wrapped in the blanket, when your phone rings. Glancing at the screen, you see it's your mom calling. You quickly answer, hoping she has good news.

"Hey, Mom," you greet her, trying to sound composed.

You exchange a glance with Maddie, both of you feeling a mix of nervousness and anticipation. "I appreciate that, Mom. It would be great to meet them."

"I thought you'd say that," she replies with a hint of amusement. "Oh, and we'll also be working on developing your shooting schedule, so we can plan everything smoothly."

You nod, realizing the gravity of the upcoming responsibilities. "I'm ready for it, Mom. I want to make the most of this opportunity."

"I know you will, sweetheart," she assures you. "I'm proud of you for taking this step. It's a big moment in your career."

Taking a deep breath, you gather your determination. "Thanks, Mom. I couldn't have done it without your support."

There's a moment of silence before your mom's voice softens. "You know I'll always be here for you, right? No matter what."

She clears her throat, the tone of her voice turning more business-like. "Alright then, I'll email you the details and the location of the meeting. Be there by noon, dress professionally, and bring your ID and a pen."

You confirm the instructions, feeling a renewed sense of purpose. "Will do, Mom. I'll be ready."

"Good," she replies. "I'll see you soon, sweetheart. Love you."

"Love you too, Mom," you say, ending the call.

As you put down the phone, you turn to Maddie, a mix of excitement and nervousness written across your face. "Looks like things are about to get real," you say, a hint of determination in your voice.
