Most people wouldn't have thought of Michael Benson as a mad scientist. Even those closest to him had little reason to think of him as anything but an unremarkable suburban dad. But behind his outward mask of pleasant mediocrity lurked an amoral genius capable of almost anything.

True, in the past, his inventions hadn't always operated quite as expected. The hypno-ray that did nothing but give him a three-day migraine, for example. Or the teleporter that inexplicably turned everything it transported into dildos.

But this time things would be different, he knew it. This time everything would work perfectly and the world would see his brilliance at last!
