Vanessa kept running and running until she could no longer see the Karen behind her. She took a break, panting and catching her breath.

Suddenly a gray-haired fellow in a black robe walked up to her, "Young lady, what is the meaning of this!?"

She looked around and saw she was next to a brick building with a tall tower faced with a clock on top. She realized how far she had run, and what she done to lead up to this.

She looked the man in the eyes and said, "forgive me, Father, for I have sinned."

The man's expression turned to pity and warmth, as he gestured her inside and said "come with me, my child". Vanessa gave no resistance.
