The Pellington Boutique

The boutique is a cozy little building along a line of commercial townhouses. The outside has a modern look with tall glass windows and a marble facade. The name Pellington’s written in metallic gold. Waiting at the door is a smiling young lady in a tied up bun hairdo and a form fitting pencil skirt dress.

“Mr. Winger! We’ve been expecting you!” she greets. “Please come in!”

You enter the building and walk into the foyer which features a display of the current designs on realistic looking mannequins. The girls are already admiring the outfits, talking amongst themselves as they point out the looks they are interested in.

“Thanks for having us at such short notice!” you tell the host. “This is Sabrina, Katherine and Emma.”

“I’m Courtney! Pleased to meet you all!” The sales rep greets with grace.

“Are these for sale?” Emma asks Courtney, pointing at one of the evening gowns the model is wearing.

“Everything is for sale, yes,” Courtney informs you. “Only these are one off pieces, so they’ll need to be tailored to fit.”

“I don’t see any price tags…” Katherine says, after checking out a silken dress.

“We can discuss the cost after you’ve made your selection,” Courtney smiles. “There are more items in the back!” She ceremoniously waves her arms open to lead the ladies to the main room. The foyer opens up into a large repository of gowns, suits, costumes and outfits that fill up the shelves and walls. There is a circle of mirrors on one side, next to a sewing machine station. Closeby, there is a saloon style doorway that leads to a small change room.

The girls eagerly spread out and dig through the outfits.

“This could be a while…” you exhale, looking at the troves of clothes available.

“Can I get you something to drink while you wait?” Courtney asks you.

“Sure, what do you have?”

“Right this way, sir!” she replies, leading you to a plush cushioned recliner next to a coffee table full of men’s magazines. “I can get you coffee or tea, or something harder if you like!” Courtney offers.

Since you’re already in party mode, you opt for something harder. Courtney returns with some sparkling champagne and finger food. You take a small sandwich, settle into the chair and check your phone. You figure by the time they’ve picked out something, the limo will be all clean and ready to take you to dinner. This seems like a good time to sort through your video footage.

“Oh! Katherine! Sabrina! You’ve got to try this on!” Emma calls out.

“Woah… that’s a little TOO revealing!” Katherine argues.

You look up to see Emma holding a shimmering silver gown with a plunging neckline. It looks like she’s holding a scarf that is drooping to the floor.

“Come on… just try it on!” Emma moans, holding it up against herself.

“YOU do it!” Katherine retorts.

“Fine! I will!” the younger sibling accepts. She looks around and then calls over to Courtney. “Do you have another change room here? Sabrina is already using this one.”

“I’m afraid we don’t,” the sales rep replies.

“Why don’t you just change out here? It’s just us in here!” Katherine suggests with a smirk. The buzz from the rum seems to be still going.

“Do you mind?” Emma asks Courtney.

“I don’t mind at all! Please, feel free. Just put the worn outfits to the side so that I can clean them afterwards!” Courtney answers.

Emma smiles and pulls off her top and shorts, not perturbed by standing nude in front of the shopkeeper. She steps into the silky fabric and pulls it up over her shoulders. Courtney immediately steps in and starts synching down sections of the gown and using pins from her done up hair to hold it in place. The fabric wraps tighter around Emma’s frame, accentuating her figure.

“Oh! I like it!” Emma remarks, checking herself in the mirrors. “It’s so sexy!” She turns to Katherine and holds out a similarly slinky gown, “Now, you try this one!”

Katherine shakes her head at her sister’s shamelessness, but follows suit, stripping off her sundress to try on the new outfit.

The girls’ antics are proving to be distracting.
