Chapter 122 by Twisted_Fellow Twisted_Fellow

Flames of Passion, Nature's Will, or Arcane Twinsies? (Alternate answers welcome.)

Arcane Twinsies, Blair's inner self

Blair growls lowly. "Fuck it!" She didn't like the idea of gambling, especially in a life-or-**** situation. This left her only one option. She cast Arcane Twinsies. - 200 Mp Her body felt lighter while simultaneously emanating a bright white light. As this was happening, a second version of herself formed to her right side. The combination of light emanating from them easily illuminated the entire room. She quickly cast Observe on them to find out what exactly she was dealing with.

Observe: (Special note: Blair cannot see the stats section, that's for you, my readers. ;3)

Blair grins when she notices the vulnerability to fire. 'Perfect!' She and her arcane twin cast Flames of Passion while running toward the center of the undead imps. 250 x 2 = - 500 Hp, 250 x 2 = - 500 Mp She hadn't expected her copy's spell to pull from her, but logically it made sense. Due to her anger, the normal damage of 50 per second was increased to 100. 100 + 5% (spell dmg up) + 10% (pants dmg up) = 116 (115.5), 116 + 100% (A.T.D. increase) = 232, 232 + 50% = 348, 348 x 2 (A.T.C.D.) = 696 damage per second. This amount of damage killed all the undead imps instantly. 30 + 10% = 33, 33 x 15 = 495 xp, Secrets of Ln'eta Page x 10

Experience has increased from 2,775/4,400 to 3,270/4,400.

Secrets of Ln'eta Page. Uncommon. Combine 10 pages to recreate the original tome, How to Survive Ln'eta. Material: Enchanted Ink and Enchanted Parchment. 2/2 Durability.

The room filled with even more light when the sprites re-emerged. Screams of terror filled the air as they flew away. Blair grins. 'That's right! Run foolish sprites!' She started to laugh madly. The next of tick Flames of Passion did a number on those sprites. Although they had resistance to it, it wasn't enough to save their lives. 232 - 50% = 116, 116 x 2 (A.T.C.D.) = 232 damage per second. 495 xp, Sprite's Dust x 30 The **** of the imps and sprites was all she needed to complete her quest.

Experience has increased from 3,270/4,400 to 3,765/4,400.

Sprite's Dust. Common. Magical powder created by sprites. Used by many crafters in the Abyss.

Experience has increased from 3,765/4,400 to 4,095/4,400.

A Sprite's Play 2 of 2

- Successfully return to the surface

- Survive Vivi Flatterwink's wrath for 10 minutes

Reward: 500 xp and Vivi's Whimsy

When Flames of Passion timed out, Blair felt her rage subside. It felt as if it had burned itself out. 'Survive for ten minutes? Does that mean there is no chance of winning?' That was when her left cheek was hit hard. She felt quite a bit of power behind that strike. 20 +131 = 151, 151 + 5% (physical up) + 10% (pants dmg up) + 15% (humanoid only) = 201 (200.5658), 201 + 100% (A.T.C.D) = 402, - 402 Hp, (Immunity to Fire) Her vision doubled for a split second before she reoriented herself. Her health had dropped to 344. "Ow, what the fuck!?" That was when she noticed her arcane twin glaring at her. "What?" Her arcane twin leans in a little. "Don't what me. You know what you did!"

Blair glances off to the side before looking back at her twin. "Aren't you supposed to be me and do what I say?" Her twin scoffs. "Only when it isn't going to bite us in the ass. Why were you being a bitch to her?" She blinks. "What are you talking about?" Her twin stares at her for a moment. "Oh... I see. You conveniently forgot what you did when your anger subsided. Is that it?" She started to scratch the top of her head before realizing what was going on. She had been quite the bitch to Ellinor just a little while ago.

Blair's twin nods slightly. "Yeah, her. Be sure to apologize when you see her. I swear. It's like you have forgotten what your goal is." She was about to speak, but her twin cut her off. "I know what you're going to say, so save your breath." Her twin places a hand on her cheek. "I'm going to remind you of your true goal. The one deep in your heart. Save Nora and protect the ones you love. In case you have forgotten who they are. I'm going to remind you who they are. Nora, Ellinor, Caesar, and Yoshito. Everyone else in the way is optional."

Blair's twin soon faded away as did the light in the room as Arcane Twinsies timed out. Her form returned to normal whilst the room around her faded to black. 'Great. Just, great.' She lowers her head, closing her eyes for just a moment. She cracks a weak smile. 'At least I'm not angry anymore.' She pulls her knees gently to her chest, her mind wandering. 'I hope Ellinor and Caesar are okay.' Her eyes slowly opened. 'Hmm, I should focus on getting out of here.' She glances up at her mini-map. 'At least I won't get lost, but this won't help me if I get into another fight or fall into a trap. I need to be able to see where I am going.'

Blair opens her skill sheet to look at all her abilities. Flames of Passion, Nature's Will, and Arcane Twinsies were the only options that could passively create a light source. Alas, they all cost a lot of mana and didn't last that long for the price. She thought about this for a moment. 'Maybe I can get something useful while channeling Meditate. If I'm unlucky, I can cast Nature's Will several times and level it up and increase its duration while reducing its mana cost.' She glanced at her health and mana bar. She had 524 health and 347 mana.

'It wouldn't hurt to restore my health and mana too.' Blair closed her eyes again, clearing her mind as she starts to channel Meditate, increasing her health and mana regen by 500%. Her health regen increased from 63.668 per minute to 318.34 per minute and her mana regen increased from 55.451 per minute to 277.255 per minute. Her health and mana would be full in a little over two minutes, but that wasn't her main objective here. She needed a light source that she could cast on an object or could fly around her.

Blair used this time to toggle on Listen, aiming for the path ahead of her just in case someone was coming. - 10 Mp All she could hear was an eerily faint blowing of wind from that direction. She focused more on wanting a light source that could fly around her like Navi from Zelda, Ocarina of Time. Over the next couple of minutes, she continued to focus her mind on that light source she had in mind. 5 x 2 = 10, - 10 Mp Alas, nothing happened. She waited another five minutes before two notifications appeared in the center of her view. 5 x 5 = 25, - 25 Mp

Listen has increased from level 1 to 2 - Mana cost per minute after initial cast has been reduced from 5 to 4.

New skill gained!

Fairy's Light lvl 1

Cost: 10 Mp

Summons a flying ball of white light to follow you around.

Illumination distance: 5 yd.

Duration: 1 minute per lvl.

Blair smiles as she read that. She used a mental command to toggle off Listen and stopped channeling Meditate, returning her regeneration rates to normal. 'That's pretty close to what I had imagined.' She started to think about Navi from Zelda, Ocarina of Time while casting Fairy's Light. - 10 Mp A small white ball of light formed in front of her, illuminating the entire room. Much like Navi, a few particles of light trailed behind it when it moved before dissipating. 'It's rather pretty.' She began to look around the room before standing up.

Now that Blair had a chance to look around the room, she could see three doors with a symbol on them. The one to the left had a sun, right had a moon, and straight ahead had a skull. Each of the symbols were oddly detailed considering the size. However, she wasn't sure which path to take. She could go straight ahead in the hopes that Vivi was there. This was probable since its symbol, a skull, was ominous. If she went to the left, she would surely end up outside because of the sun symbol. Or she could go to the right. She didn't have a clue what the moon could mean in this situation. There could be a bed there for all she knew.
