Isabella (the maid)

"Ashley, ma'am are you in there?" At first, you do not answer hoping that she will just leave you alone you were still not really in the mood to talk right now. But, she says, "I am sorry to bother you but I just wanted to let you know that I just got home and if you need anything please let me know. Also, there is a lady suitor here to talk to you."

At this you sat up what did she just say, "What did you just say?"

You could almost hear the smile in her voice when she said, "I said there is a lady suitor who wishes to speak to you if you have a moment, it seems most urgent. I believe her name was Madeline."

At this, you throw open the door without even managing to throw on the robe that you borrowed from your sister.

"Isabella, she cannot see me like this, can you go down and keep her distracted while I get ready?"

Isabella had been with the family for a few years now and just smiled and said, "Of course Miss Ashley, I would be most happy to assist you in this way. I will keep the young lady distracted. We would not want the young lady to see you in such a state."

With that, you skitter into your room and start to rifle through the clothes for something to wear.
