Family talk

Lauren knocked on the door of the suburban house. A moment later her mother opened it. Her eyes widened in shock, then narrowed into a glare.

"Let me guess... you lost your clothes AGAIN?" Her mother asked, voice heavy with disapproval.

"Sorry mom." Lauren said. "But we have to talk.

Three hours later Lauren and her mother were still at the kitchen table, deep in this intensive conversation.

"Let me get this straight... you've been wearing padded bras and Spanx for a decade because your sister and I used to embarrass you so much? And you became so insecure it let to you putting yourself in punishing situations, like this public nudity fiasco you've been through for the last week?"

"That's right." Lauren said. "I couldn't bare the lies and deceit any longer. So I've decided I'm going to be honest from now on."

"That's a good idea." Her mother said. "Frankly, I'm proud of you. I didn't realize I was contributing to that bully Britney and your stupid date Nathan tormenting you. I'm so sorry Lauren."

"You didn't do anything wrong mom." Lauren said, and the pair hugged, nudity forgotten.

"Now, I've got to have a similar talk with Vanessa." Lauren explained. "But, before I go, I hope I can stay here while I find a new job and apartment."

"Of course." Her mother smiled.

"Also, I don't think I plan on wearing clothes anymore." Lauren said. "Are you okay with that?"

"Frankly, I don't love the idea." Her mother said. "But, I understand why this is what you need to do, and I support you as you figure out your issues."

"Thanks mom." Lauren said, calmly walking down the hall in full nude glory, covering nothing and carrying no shame...
