Flash!
Artemis and her familiars disappeared. A moment later the arcane runic bubble faded away, freeing the hostages.
“Luke!” every one of his baby mamas cried.
Luke used his ‘Lesser Omnipresence’ ability to create a dozen avatars, one for each of his women. The Fertility Super Center cafeteria was a buzz as a dozen private conversations started.
The primary Luke summoned his spear ‘Gungnir’ to his hand. While his dozen avatars gathered clues from talking with his women.
“You must have a special power to control so many avatars,” thin Loki said stepping up next to the primary Luke.
“Ya …” Luke said smiling.
“A gift from the ‘Arbiter’,” Luke thought to himself.
Just then pregnant Loki walked in with a Luke avatar.
“Dam … and they say I was scary for having 5 avatars in battle. … So, what now?” thin Loki asked frowning at the endless chatter.
“I can’t teleport to the mansion. So I need a car, and will likely need some backup,” Luke thought out loud.
“Keep your pregnant avatar here. We’re going to confront Glinda and whomever else gets in my way,” Luke said gripping his spear.
Luke drove Amber’s car as the magical healer sat in the back seat.
“Say that again,” Amber asked in surprise.
“I hope I’m wrong, and Glinda isn’t a Demi-god. But Artemis implied that Glinda was more than just a level 20 sorcerer. She considers her a God of War,” Luke said ignoring Loki messing with the radio.
“You’re probably right, Gods of Hunting don’t usually lie, and if they do they have horrible poker faces,” thin Loki said turning her focus to the AC controls.
“Let’s hope the negotiation plan works,” Loki said turning to play with the window.
“Just make sure to drop your other avatars before you get injured,” Amber said worriedly.
“He brought you to heal others, not himself. Most demi-gods can just use their mana to recover from injuries,” thin Loki said watching the traffic.
“Still, I would hate for the ladies back at the mall, to all witness your avatars get bloody for no reason,” Amber said still heavily concerned.
“Don’t worry. I already dispelled all my avatars save one,” Luke said looking at Loki’s cleavage.
Glinda watched as her forces magically assaulted the magical barrier.
“High Witch,” a young Life Witch said with a salute.
Glinda turned to face the level 3 Life Witch.
“Aw, Terry. You’re just in time. You just finished having your latest child. I have need of your womb. I will likely have to confront our enemy directly,” Glinda said with a smile.
“Anything for you, High Witch,” Terry said giving a bow.
“Baby Token,” Glinda said rubbing her belly.
1 large gold coin appeared in Glinda’s hand.
“I do like it when my surrogates are cute,” Glinda thought pulling Terry into a hug.
Glinda kissed Terry on the lips as she pressed the gold ‘Baby Token’ against Terry’s bare skin.
“Hmmm,” Terry mumbled as she was overwhelmed.
In a matter of seconds, Glinda lost her baby bump as it was transferred to Terry.
“Thank you, my dear, now keep it safe. I will need that back before too long,” Glinda said patting Terry’s newly expanded middle.
“Pull over,” Loki said pointing.
Luke didn’t question it and pulled over to where Loki was looking.
“What is it?” Amber asked confused.
“I smell dark fey. It’s likely mercenaries hired to do the L.A. Life Coven’s dirty work,” Loki said summoning a dagger.
“What should we do?” Luke said sniffing the air.
“Give me a few minutes to scout ahead,” Loki said with a smile.
“Only kill if you need to,” Luke thought into the trickster’s head.
“Relax, be back soon,” Loki said before exiting the car.
Glinda smiled as she felt her satyr warriors being killed. The enchanted wine bottle she gave Phill worked as intended.
“Too easy,” Glinda thought.
Glinda knew what giving endless wine to Satyr mercenaries would bring: Drunk fighters easily killed. Enticing the enemy to attack and reveal their positions.
“Athena, you’re up, head southwest,” Glinda thought rubbing a ‘Sending Ring’.
“Really, Artemis failed?” Athena thought back.
“No, more likely she avoided fighting Luke altogether. She hates messing with Men that are notorious for making babies,” Glinda thought with a sigh.
“Figgers,” Athena thought back with a mental shrug.
“That girl needs to just remove her uterus,” Athena thought annoyed.
“She is a maiden goddess, … and not everyone is as insane as you,” Glinda said repeating the same argument for the hundredth time.
“Whatever,” Athena thought annoyed.
“Don’t whatever me! Don’t underestimate Luke Smith. He is a Divine level, Jinn Binder. You can’t just fuck him and change his memories afterward. He enslaved Aphrodite and likely Loki,” Glinda said into Athena’s mind.
“I’m not an idiot. I only fuck mortals I can manipulate. I have a Virgin reputation to uphold,” Athena thought back.
Luke focused on his second avatar. He recalled the countless hours of practicing his ‘Alteration’ ability to mimic druid shapeshifting.
“I hope this works,” Luke thought as he looked through the eyes of his hummingbird avatar.
Loki silently ran through the trees scouting the area. But she occasionally slowed and killed any Satyr that was fast asleep.
“Hey, I said only if you need to,” Luke thought into Loki’s mind.
Loki paused and patted the hummingbird in her cleavage.
“Of course, … I NEED the mana,” Loki whispered, with a smile.
The thin Loki adjusted her black robes, before resuming her run.
“Halt Trickster!” Athena yelled.
“I challenge you to a competition between Gods!” Athena shouted mentally preparing for a fight.
Loki froze. She clung to a tree, trying her best to blend into the shadows.
“I know you’re around here Loki. Accept my challenge or I will happily hunt you down,” Athena shouted squaring her shoulders.
“You think you can catch me?” Loki said throwing her voice.
“I know you’re proud of your speed Trickster. But you were only just recently freed from prison. While I have been enjoying countless Wars and ****. You can’t hope to escape me. I have mountains of mana in reserve,” Athena yelled scanning the shadows.
No reply ... the wooded area was dead silent.
“Come now Loki, let’s have some fun. Why not accept my challenge? We could both enjoy using the ‘Arbiter’s mana,” Athena shouted before throwing a javelin into the woods.
Crack!
The tree that Loki was hiding behind, slowly began to split in half. Loki teleported (with ‘Shadow Jump’) to another tree, just as the two halves hit the ground.
Boom!
“Come out Loki, let’s enjoy a friendly game. If you win, I will not fight Luke Smith tonight. But if I win you won’t fight for him tonight,” Athena shouted magically summoning another javelin to throw.
“I choose TAG!” Loki said throwing her voice.
“Very well, but I don’t have all night. Let’s put a limited time into this game. Say 5 minutes?” Athena shouted.
“I choose these woods and all our avatars as the arena and the players,” Loki said throwing her voice.
“Fine with me, I don’t care how many avatars you have hidden. But my one stipulation is I can use my javelins to tag you, but my javelins can’t be tagged themselves,” Athena shouted.
“That’s dumb … if you get that, then I want multiple lights and shadows around the arena,” Loki said summoning a new avatar.
The new avatar walked out of the shadows completely naked.
“A small naked female avatar … not spending the mana for your preferred look? Not using a man’s body covered in your favorite armor?” Athena asked with a smirk.
“What happens if the time runs out?” the naked Loki asked.
“We both lose. I won’t fight Luke Smith tonight, and You won’t fight for him tonight,” Athena said holding out her hand.
“Agreed!”
Loki and Athena shook hands.
Flash!
“We are called upon to pass judgment on a challenge between two Demi-Gods,” two voices said in unison.
“Don’t tell me, the ‘Arbiter’ chose …,” Athena said recognizing one of the voices.
Flash!
The Roman ‘God of Parties and Wine’ Bacchus manifested.
Thud!
“Fuck!” Bacchus said rolling onto his side.
“You should really, learn to create avatars closer to the ground,” a deep voice said from the aether.
Flash!
The Chinese ‘God of War and Honor’ Guan Yu manifested beside Bacchus’s giant fat avatar.
“It seems the ‘Arbiter’ wants an honorable judge to oversee this competition,” Guan Yu said stroking his beard.
“Get real, the ‘Arbiter’ wanted a fun judge to enjoy watching a high-stakes game,” Bacchus said getting up and summoning a wine jug.
Athena rolled her eyes.
“It could have been worse. At least I have one sober judge to watch Loki’s behavior,” Athena thought to herself.
‘Whoever gets tagged first loses. Ready … set … begin!” Bacchus cheered.
Loki ran. But as she ran, she stripped her black robes, leaving Luke’s hummingbird avatar hidden in the folds.
“Stripping their clothes … odd choice,” Bacchus said from the judge’s table.
“Not at all. It’s faster to summon avatars without clothes or weapons. Tag is all about speed,” Guan Yu said sitting beside Bacchus.
Athena began summoning dozens of throwing javelins.
“Smart Strategy on the part of the War Goddess. She is using the endless mana gifted to her by the ‘Arbiter’ for this fight, to cover the arena in javelins,” Guan Yu said stroking his beard.
“True enough. But the Trickster is also drawing upon the ‘Arbiter’ to create avatars and ‘Shadow-Jump’. Two very expensive spells.” Bacchus said sipping wine from a swirly straw.
“Not much good it will do. The longer the battle goes on. The harder it will be for Loki to approach Athena,” Guan Yu said with a nod.
Luke’s hummingbird escaped the robes and scanned the scene. Loki was a blur. She was running, jumping, teleporting, summoning, and dispelling avatars all at the same time.
“Focus,” Luke thought turning to Athena.
The Greek Goddess of War and Wisdom smiled as Loki’s movements became predictable. Hundreds of javelins littered the area. Loki was running out of places to jump between.
“Looks like Loki is not going to win. But might stall the last minute with their ‘Shadow-Jump’ ability,” Bacchus said squinting at the multiple light sources.
“Loki was wise to ask for multiple lights and shadows. Without teleporting they would have never had a chance,” Guan Yu said closely watching the gods.
The judge when silent as the clock showed 20 seconds left.
“Almost there,” Luke thought flying through the countless javelins surrounding Athena.
