That’s what you keep telling yourself as you stand at the podium, giving your best bullshit smile for the press.

“Chief! Is it true you plan to resign after the recent failure at Simpson Park?”

Goddamn Simpson Park, that blunder rests entirely on the shoulders of the hero’s on the scene… but… those heroes are dead, so you had to take the fall.

“The recent events at the park are severely misunderstood, we’re currently doing what we can for the victims and no, I’m not going anywhere”

“Chief! Were you aware of Resolute’s dealings with the Infierno Crime Family?”

For a moment your smile falters, hopefully none of the sharks noticed, Sam Keyes also known as Resolute… you two were in training together, he knew your kids..

And then he goes and does some work for the mob… no… you didn’t know.

“Are you worried that other members of the Northside precinct might be in bed with the mob?”
