Possibly useful

Since finding that clearing you've been walking for hours trying to find something that could be of use. The trees aren't anything special and it's not like you are strong enough to just carry trees. The stream that you found might lead to a lake but you aren't packed for such a long trip. So far it's looking like this side of the forest was the wrong choice.

You let out a sigh as you continue walking you can't help but feel disappointed that you haven't found anything. You look up at the sun to see that it is midday, you're going to have to turn back soon if you don't want to be walking in the dark. Due to you looking up you don't see the object jutting out of the ground until you hit it and trip.

Falling face first into the dirt is not a pleasant feeling. Good thing nobody saw it though. You look to see what tripped you.

It extends out of the ground in a curved shape that descends back into the ground. Giving the object a few taps it sounds like wood. Did... did you find a buried chest? Quickly looking around to make sure that you're alone you begin to dig out the chest. It took about 15 minutes of digging before you could pull it out of the hole.
