What's next?
Second encounter with the agressor
After the morning classes and lunch time, I decided to check the applications for the baseball team. I still wasn't sure if I was going to pursue it anymore, but it was my best shot to get into a professional team. I found a flier attached to a board next to the Administration door and took it. I contacted the phone number in it with the name of the team captain - Ross.
“Hi, Ross. This is Michael, I’m a Law School freshman. I would like to try out for the baseball team.” I sent him a message.
_“Of course, lad! I'm the team captain. Tryouts are tomorrow after lunch time and again on Friday.” _He responded a few minutes later.
“I think I can make it tomorrow.”
“Good. If you have an old uniform, bring it. Until then.”
I locked my phone and it buzzed again with a message from Carl. My goofy grin splashed back on my face.
“You know I can see you from across the parking lot, right?” And then a picture of me on my phone, taken from the second floor from the Manor Road Building.
I tried to look up and locate him, but I couldn’t see him on any of the windows.
“Great! A hung guy and a stalker in the same package.” I replied. “Do you mind if I bring my roommate to the workout tonight? He’d just broken up.”
“Will he be in the middle or in the end?”
“He’ll be straight hahahah”
“Bummer.”
I bumped into someone as I wasn’t paying attention to my path.
“Sorry.” I looked up and saw who he was - Chris.
I was instantly taken back to the moment he beat the crap out of me at Sigma Phi and to seeing him around the square a few minutes earlier our fight. He seemed unguided and I sure didn't want to face him again, so I turned back to get into the classroom’s building before he could resume what he’d started that night.
“Hey! Big guy!” He called and I froze.
Shit! How come I lost all my confidence around him and turned into a complete coward? I turned back at him, nervous, as he got a few steps closer.
“Just wanna apologize for that night at the frat. I think I was stoned, dude.” He crazily laughed. “It just gets a little crazy when I'm high, you know?”
“Alright.” I answered. That was one weird dude.
“So, I hope I didn't break anything in your pretty face.” He deviously smirked.
“I'm a tough guy.” Was all I could say.
“Yeah, you are. So, if you need something let me know.” He brushed his nose twice and walked past me.
I shook my whole body, feeling a sudden rush of chill all over my spine, and got out of there.
