Temptations

You stroll into work. Security dumps your bag and one of the guards gives you a pat-down. You smile. He is unusually restrained.

You head up to twenty five and settle into your cube. As you turn on your computer, Moon pokes her head in.

“So, Coffee today?”

You nod.

You begin proofreading a bunch of sales brochures. Just as you are finishing the first one up, you sense a presence behind you.

“There’s something different about you today. It certainly isn’t your Walmart fashion sense.”

You turn to face Marsha. She is wearing tight, black, leather pants and a red corset. She leans in and sniffs your hair.

“You used the product.”

You don’t know what she is talking about.

“I bet you are thinking about how hot you looked with full black lips.”

You had managed to stop thinking about it until Marsha mentioned it.

“You should never have to be an ugly duckling, girl. Here.”

She drops an ornate tube of black lipstick on your desk and walks away.

You stare at it like a snake. EvilGlam is embossed on the side of the tube in a wicked font. The tube itself is flat black.

You take a breath. It can’t hurt you, it’s just lipstick. You pick it up. You could try some on now. It isn’t like it doesn’t come off.

You close your eyes and think about how sexy you looked in it last night.

You want to try it on, only the little voice in your head keeps saying you shouldn’t.
