"What?! But but... no?!" Lauren said, baffled by his reply.

"Yeah." Steve said with a shrug.

"But... but... why?!" Lauren asked. "You've been trying to get with me since high school!"

"Things have changed." Steven said. "I've got to look out for my reputation."

"Are you kidding me?!" Lauren shrieked. "You think you're too good for me?!?!"

"You said it, not me." Steven chuckled and turned to walk away....
