Chapter 8 by doppledon doppledon

Where to get lunch?

See if you can take this somewhere more private.

"Oh well I usually just grab something from a store and cook when I get back home. Usually some pasta and some kind of protein, so I'm not really sure what to suggest" you reply.

"I'm not opposed to that if you don't mind cooking for me" she says biting her lower lip and looking expectantly at you.

"Oh, er, yah I'm good with that. Did you want to go to my house or your house" you ask.

"Let's go with my house. It's closer. Here, let me text you my address" she says whipping her phone out and sending you her address.

"Perfect, I'll go get some stuff and be there in half an hour or so" you reply.

"Great, that'll give me some time to clean some things up a little" she says stepping forward and giving you a quick hug goodbye.

"See you soon" you wave to her as she waves at you walking out the door. You turn to see the teenager managing the front desk. He smiles and gives you two thumbs up and a look of awe before returning to his work. You chuckle to yourself and head out the door to go get some pasta and protein. You figure spaghetti and ground beef would make for a good meal to get some carbs and protein, as well as being quick and easy. You also picked up some bread and a nice bottle of wine, or at least as nice as the store had to offer, and rounding it all off you picked up a few spices since you didn't know what she had available. It doesn't take long before you find yourself buzzing Rene's apartment building to be let in.

"Hello" you hear Rene's voice through the intercom.

"Hey Rene, it's me, I have the beginnings of our lunch with me" you say into the intercom.

"Great. Come right up" she says and you hear the door buzz. Entering in you see it is just a small lobby with some elevators and mail lockers. You enter into the elevator that corresponds to her apartment number and ride it up to her floor. When the door opens it is another short hallway with a door at the end of it. You step forward and knock on the door. Almost immediately the door swings open and you see a smiling Rene.

"You made it. Come on in" she motions for you to enter.

You're a little dumbstruck as you walk into her apartment. For two reasons. Firstly Rene is wearing a silk top that clings to her like a wet t-shirt, and it is very apparent that she is not wearing a bra. Trying to take your eyes off of that was difficult enough, but when you did you were treated to a very nice apartment. You recognized some of it from her Onlyfans pictures, but it was a bit different seeing it in person. It was all open concept and was on the corner of the building. Two sides had giant windows giving you an amazing view of the city. You were drawn to the windows like a moth to a flame. Below you could see people going about their day, and looking straight out you could see a neighborhood that seemed to go on forever.

"Pretty good view huh" she asked. You almost jumped a little seeing her standing next to you.

"Uh...yah, you could say that" you said smiling at her.

"I wasn't originally going to buy this apartment, but after seeing the view I didn't really have much of a choice anymore. I love watching everyone going about their day in the neighborhood below" she says wistfully as she stares down at little world below. A scent of a nice perfume suddenly hits you and you notice Rene has put on some makeup. The side of her shirt is apparently cut down low and you can see the sides of her breast, and looking down form fitting pants show off her ass perfectly.

"You're staring" she chuckles catching your attention. She's still staring out the window, but it is clear she noticed you were staring at her.

"Sorry. Sorry. Just, there isn't anything in this apartment that isn't beautiful" your reply. You can see her eyes close and the corner of her mouth raises up as she smiles. She sighs briefly and looks up at you with a smirk on her face.

"I always wondered if men got better at pickup lines as they aged" she giggles "Is that our lunch" she says pointing at the bag you're carrying.

"Oh, yah, I'm starving so we should probably get this cooking" you say patting the bag.

"I think we're both pretty hungry" she says biting her lower lip again. Man, you couldn't get over how sexy she looked whenever she did that.

"My kitchen is right over there" she said pointing to her kitchen.

"I picked up some wine as well" you say taking out the bottle and handing it to her. "If you want to get some glasses out for us, if not that's ok and you can keep it as a gift" you offer.

"Very appropriate" she says taking the bottle and walking with you to the kitchen. She pulls out some wine glasses, uncorks the wine, and pours you both some of it as you get started on browning the ground beef.

"So you know how to cook, you take care of yourself, you have a good paying job, your own house...why are you single again" she asks taking a sip of her wine.

"Well cooking spaghetti isn't exactly hard" you chuckle.

"Are you saying you aren't a good cook" she asks in an amused voice.

"Oh no, I'm a great cook. I've been single most of my life, and I hate fast food, so cooking has been a necessity for me" you reply throwing some seasoning into the meat.

"That didn't answer my original question though. You mentioned before that you focused on your job too much" she says hopping up to sit on the counter.

"Yah, that's most of it really. I focused too much on my job, and never really dated anyone I saw as worth a long term commitment. Not that I knew that from the start with each of them, or that I didn't try to make it work, but it wasn't hard to determine a few months in or so if it was going anywhere" you said staring at nothing as you remembered each of them.

"So I was right. You just never found the right partner. What didn't they have that you wanted for a long term commitment" she asked "if you don't mind me getting this personal" she said looking at her wine as she swirled it around in its glass.

"No its fine. In truth I don't really know fully. It was something unique for all of them. Some had no future ambitions. Some had no desire for anything but children" you listed off a few reasons and noticed Rene shake her head when you mentioned children.

"Not a lover of children" you asked with a raised eyebrow.

"What, and ruin this body" she said earning a laugh from both of you. "No, maybe someday, but right now children aren't something I see myself wanting any time soon. I've watched way too many of my friends from college rush into marriage and children, and turn into a husk of their former selves. All the while trying to convince me that I don't know what I'm missing" she added.

"What about you? Did you see yourself with a couple little ones running around by now" she asked.

"I suppose it's a little sad, but I kind of did. I'm ok with where I am though in that regard. I don't know if I'd have made a good dad or not, so maybe it is better this way" you say a little sadly. You look at Rene and see her with that same face as if you'd told her the moon was made from cheese again.

"I highly doubt you'd have been a bad father. You may not have prioritized making a family, but that doesn't mean you couldn't have. No, I think you'd have been an amazing father with the right partner" she says nodding her head to her own advice. As if there was no longer any room for argument. You can't help but smile and chuckle a little bit.

"What" she asks clearly wondering what is so humorous.

What made you chuckle?
