Well, you never thought the time would come.

Soon the news reaches your ears that Gemma has been accepted into one of the most prestigious universities on the east coast to study psychology. You're sad to see her go, but glad that all the work she was doing at community college paid off. Her father throws her a going away party at their house a few days before she is set to depart, firing up the grill in the backyard and inviting the few friends she's made in the year she's been in town as well as some acquaintances of the family. You and Rebecca attend of course, and the gathering goes well into the evening, and Steven starts a small bonfire underneath the starry night sky. You head inside to grab some more beers from the fridge, and as fate would have it, you find Gemma alone in the kitchen, staring out the window.

"Congratulations!" you say, raising your beer in a toast.

"Thanks," she smiles, "And thanks for everything else too."

You think she's talking about the sex, but you're slightly taken aback when she goes on.

"I was really lonely when we first came here," she says, leaning up against the kitchen counter. "I didn't know anyone at all. You were the first person that I met that I really connected with. I'm sorry I did all that shitty stuff to you at first. And yeah, all those other things we did... was nice. But really, thanks for just being there. For being a good friend."

You realize you feel the exact same way, but can't really put the feelings into words.

"So... how about one last go for old time's sake?" she asks, turning around and flipping up the back of her dress.
