Your place or mine?

"Do you live alone?" he asked.

Jane nodded, knowing where this was going. She was starting to get used to the low-grade pleasant hum that she was feeling.

"Then let's go to your place."

It was weird, she thought. She knew she should object, that this man was going to do things to her. She couldn't seem to, though. It was like when you take aspirin for a headache and you can still feel a tickle of a headache without any real pain.

"And when we get there?"

He flashed a predatory grin. "We'll see where the evening takes us."

A moment later, her train finally arrived and they boarded. She gave him her address and phone number in case they got separated. Suddenly a thought occurred to her.

"You know, I never got your name."

"You didn't, did you? It's Ryan." he smiled and offered his hand. As she shook it, she couldn't help but feel a small thrill at the touch of another person.

"So, Ryan, tell me more about my condition."

"Actually, I was hoping you could tell me about it. I've never spoken to anyone who's under the influence of the substance."

She thought for a second. "What do you want to know?"

"Well, for starters, describe how you feel."

"I feel nice. It's a very pleasant feeling-"

"No." He interrupted. "Really think about it. Describe it in detail to me."

She considered the request. She was starting to get used to her new state of mind. She felt great in general, but there was more to it than that.

"I feel like when I focus on something, I feel good about it specifically. When I think about the breeze on my face, it feels like a gentle caress. When I look at your face, I realize you're quite attractive and nice to look at. Everywhere I turn, I enjoy myself."

The train suddenly came to a halt. Jane looked up and realized it was her stop. She had been distracted by her lovely conversation.

Ryan must have forgotten about it too, since he seemed surprised when she moved towards the door.
