Chapter 255

Do you have a normal morning?
Blending in
The rest of your classes before lunch passed by without anything out of the ordinary happening. Like your first class, most of your teachers seemed to be handing out revision material and covering the exam topics instead of anything new being learnt. Another basically left you to your own devices for a period of ‘self-study’ that ended up just being an hour of messing around for most.
You had expected to do the same but some of your and Emma’s friends were in the class that you hadn’t managed to talk to for a while. There were comments about you and Emma and how you hadn’t been online for very long in the past few days but you brushed them off saying you had actually been studying for once.
Some in the group were pushier than others but when you didn’t give a reaction to their comments they backed off like you had hoped. It felt like there was a strange disconnect in how you reacted with them since you had gotten the KDK but the shift in your life priorities seemed to be the cause, with you realising that everyday life was a lot more boring than some of the other activities you had been taking part in.
Whether it was your new attitude or the exam crunch, the group didn’t delve too deep into your personal life and the bell for lunch rang as people were making plans for summer break. You felt like you had too much going on currently to make any more concrete plans but you said you’d think about places to go as you left the room.
The corridor wasn’t the best environment to start eating but you tried to fill your stomach while searching for Emma before you needed to head up to Rebecca’s office. Luckily, you managed to pick her out from the stream of students heading to the cafeteria and caught up with her while you had some time.
She smiled when she saw you and while the both of you were excited to share what you had been doing since you last parted, there wasn’t a good place to talk in specifics, opting to talk in more general terms as you moved to the side of the hallway.
“See anything good last night?” you asked, just about finishing your lunch before you spoke.
“There were some things I wouldn’t mind watching. I remembered a few things this morning that made me want to just…” Emma replied, struggling to find the right words with other people around.
She clenched her hands in front of her and from the look in her eyes, you could tell what she meant without needing to continue.
“I get what you mean, don’t worry. I did want to mention something else as well about…one of the people you saw” you said, wanting to discuss Sarah without having to be vague.
You knew you wouldn’t have time to mention it until you got home later tonight and even then it would be over the phone, deciding it best to just get closer to Emma and whisper in her ear while you had the chance.
“Sarah wants to go on a date” you admitted, pulling back from her ear to see her reaction.
“With me or you?” Emma replied, wanting confirmation on what you were telling her.
“With me. Though I don’t think she would say no to you either” you answered with a smile, knowing how Sarah saw the two of you.
Emma seemed to accept the idea with a nod before she started to look sceptical, something you weren’t expecting to see from her given everything the three of you had been through.
“What are you thinking about?” you asked, curious as to what made her change.
“Oh I’m fine with it, don't worry. I’m glad you told me as well but… I’m trying to think where you could actually go given that you are, ya know…” Emma replied, letting you fill in the rest of her sentence.
You didn’t catch on at first but eventually you realised what Emma was trying to say. With you and Sarah being related, you wouldn’t be able to do anything intimately in public. Especially in places where people knew who you were or knew that you were already going out with Emma.
You had been so wrapped up in the idea of getting Emma’s permission first that you hadn’t considered anyone but you, Sarah or Emma. Other people's opinions of you seemed to be becoming less of a concern to you but you still wanted to seem like a normal member of society when you weren’t behind closed doors.
Still, there were a few places you could go that hopefully offered the two of you some privacy if you needed it but being **** to limit the options for the date bummed you out a little.
“We can think of some ideas tomorrow with her and if we don’t come up with anything I’m sure we will have time over the weekend. I don’t think you have the time but you weren’t planning it for this week were you?” Emma asked, trying to redirect your attention to lift your spirits.
“No, sometime next week most likely. I wanted to mention some other stuff about her but… I think that will have to wait until later. I’ll give you a call, okay?” you replied, taking a look at the time and knowing you needed to head up to the office sooner rather than later.
The date had felt like more of a priority and now didn’t seem to be the right time to discuss your concerns over Sarah reaching level 4 with Emma. That seemed like a conversation that you definitely needed to have in private and not in the middle of a busy corridor.
“Sure thing, I would say don’t have too much fun without me but that's exactly what I want you to do” Emma teased, walking up a little closer and whispering in your ear.
“Go get her tiger” she ordered, feeling her breath against your ear.
Emma left as you widened your eyes and she turned her back to you with a smirk as she witnessed your reaction. You were left wide eyed but with other people still around you quickly fixed your expression and tried to hide your own smile from Emma’s encouragement.
You didn’t want her words to go to waste so you did as she asked and headed off to go and find Rebecca, not bothering to check any of the classrooms and going straight for her office instead.
Once again the walk up down the corridor and up the stairs was a rather short one and while you were hesitant about running into the principal as you seemed to somehow find yourself doing, the door was shut tight. The door to Rebecca’s office however was cracked open and you could hear two voices back and forth in conversation from inside.
Making your way closer to the door, you tried your best to listen in without acting suspicious and stood with your back to the wall as if waiting to be called inside, your head tilted to try and listen in.
What’s being discussed inside?
