Lauren loses control of the situation (not that she ever had it)

Kathy forcefully yanks Lauren along, leading her up yet more stairs.

"C-can't we use an elevator?" Lauren puffs and pants as her feet pad along the concrete floor and echo through the stairwell.

"This is quicker, now stop whining!" Kathy snaps back.

The two traverse what feels to Lauren like a dizzying array of stairwells until they finally emerge into a large, impressively decorated hallway.

It's filled with impressive statues and artworks on either side, and to Lauren's immense delight, a very soft carpet that practically tickles her toes.

"Oooo, that's nice," our secretly-stocky girl coos as her poor feet get the royal treatment (well, compared to bare concrete anyway).

Kathy continues leading Lauren down the hallway to a large, imposing office.

"You should feel grateful I'm letting you in here," the haughty woman declares. "Most of the junior executives have never even seen this place, let alone a secretary!"

Lauren's eyes went wide in shock. This woman's office was larger than Lauren's whole apartment!

"Stop dawdling!" Kathy huffed as she dragged Lauren through the executive office all the way to the other side, where a smaller, yet somehow even fancier door stood. "Wait here."

Lauren did as she was told, too cowed, and sore, and hot, and tired to protest. Instead she meekly watched as Kathy marched over to an incredibly ornate desk and started muttering to herself.

"Where's that damn key! They said it would be here!" The older woman growled, her composure slipping.

Lauren might have found that strange, if she wasn't so overwhelmed by everything else.

Eventually, after much searching, the woman let out a little triumphant chirp and came back with a handful of keys.

"Here," Kathy said as she struggled to unlock the door, finally getting it open on the fourth attempt. "Go wash up and get clean."

"Y-yest ma'am," weakly murmured, blushing as she realized what she'd just called her new boss.

She padded into the room and gasped. This wasn't just a private bathroom with a sink and toilet. It was practically a personal a gymnasium with a shower and even a Jacuzzi!
