Chapter 55 by Marcus Cooper
Part 2?
Part 2!
Our side story picks up with the two in elementary school, specifically, the equivalent of American 5th and 6th grade. As the siblings aged and matured, Komaru thankfully no longer required Makoto coaxing her to eat. She did, however, retain her love for her brother, and was not shy about expressing in the outside world. "I love you, Onii-chan." The two walked to their shared school together every day, which Komaru was more than happy about.
"I know, Komaru. You tell me every day." Makoto did his best to smile at his sister, but in his eyes, this was beginning to cross into ridiculous territory.
"Because I love you every day!" As the smaller sibling jumped on his arm, Makoto couldn't help but smile at her antics. If an outside observer saw this, they'd be forgiven for mistaking the two as lovers instead of siblings. She enjoyed every second of close contact with her brother, but had to reluctantly part ways once they got to school.
Komaru sat in class, bored out of her mind. 'I wonder what Onii-chan's doing right now?' She knew she shouldn't daydream, even if she already knew the lesson. Makoto always made time to tutor her, no matter how slow Komaru seemed to be due to her wandering. 'I learn better from him anyway.' The bell rang for lunch, signalling a grateful end to the lesson and a **** one to her wondering. Going upstairs to the 6th year classrooms, ready for the next part of her routine, eating lunch with Makoto. As much as she hated keeping him waiting, she really had to pee. As the sister relieved herself in a nearby stall, she heard the door open and two sets of feet pitter into the room.
"Ugh, I need a new boytoy." She could tell from her tone that this was the dominant in their dynamic. Her subordinate spoke up.
"What happened to your old one?"
"He got wise and broke up with me. Who's next from the list?" Komaru hears a rustle of paper as curiosity prevents her from moving a muscle.
"Hmm...looks like 'Makoto Naegi'." The mention of her Onii-chan made Komaru hitch her breath, but it wasn't loud enough for the self absorbed duo to register a human voice.
"Who the hell's that?"
"He's not remarkable in any particular field. Good grades, but not valedictorian, decently athletic, but not much muscle, no clubs to speak of..."
"How'd he even make the list?!"
"Well, he's very kind, which means he might last longer than most, plus Sayaka Maizono's interested in him."
"Wait, the Sayaka Maizono? How did that happen?"
"They haven't talked yet, but the signs are there. If you want him, you'll have to get to him fast." The first girl sighed, mulling it over and making Komaru seeth in anger.
"Whatever, there must be something about him if she's interested. I've never stolen a guy from an idol before. That name needs work though, something to reflect what he really his...let's call him Boring-kun from now on!" As the two laugh, Komaru's anger reaches a boiling point.
'BORING-KUN!?' Komaru pushed through the door with all the **** an angry 5th grader could muster. Before either offender could react, she walks to the girl on the left, who she judged as the leader. Taking a moment to eye her up, Komaru sees her appearance is made up as close to a gyaru as one could be without going full delinquent. 'She probably will do that in the future. This is the girl that wants to use Onii-chan.' The gyaru wannabe looks down at the younger girl.
"Who the hell are--" Before she can finish her sentence, Komaru grabs her by the back of the head, slamming her into the large sink fixture. With her main antagonist passed out on the floor, the sister's attention turned to the lesser of the two. Her appearance is meek and mousy, the complete opposite of her friend, which is only made worse after witnessing Komaru's anger.
"Please don't hurt me!" The meek is shaking, anticipating a repeat of what was done to her friend.
"You insulted Onii-chan." The victim's mind starts going a mile a minute, knowing she may just get out of this unscathed.
"You mean Makoto? That was all her! She made me make a list of every eligible boy in school for her habit. Look at it, it's all fact!" Komaru took the list from the girl's trembling hands. It's a standard notebook. She flips through to the only entry she cares about. Browsing the entry, she can see that none of the leader's taunting language is in here. It's as she says, all fact (and occasional rumor) about one Makoto Naegi. Taking another look at the trembling girl and the list, she decides to spare the second girl her wrath. She hands the list back with a single command.
"Burn it." The girl frantically nods before bolting from the room. Her anger reigned in, Komaru retrieves her lunch before going to eat with her brother.
Are there consequences? If so, what are they?
