Meet the supervisor

Lauren's mother pulled her by the arm over to two figures. One was a middle aged woman with a clipboard. The other Lauren instantly recognized as as Debra, her former landlord and rival.

"Ah Lauren!" Debra said, grinning as she saw her. "Love the outfit."

Lauren cringed. This was the LAST person she wanted to see her dressed like a total immature dork!

"Lauren? Lauren Adkins?" The older woman asked, seeming confused. "But, this isn't community service for a minor..."

Debra laughed as Lauren gaped.

"I know it might be confusing, but Lauren is 20 years old." Lauren's mother explained.

"Really?" The woman looked Lauren up and down. Lauren withered under her gaze.

Then she shrugged.

"Well Lauren, I'm your community service supervisor. I'm here to make sure you complete your hours. Though your former landlord has graciously agreed to supervise your duties. She'll be telling you what to do."

"That's right Lauren..." Debra said, with a shark like grin on her face...
