Mrs. Victoria Brown sat down on her porch, drinking her coffee and watching the neighborhood. She's lived here since she was a baby. In those 58 years, she's seen friends come and go, but lately there was a lot more 'going'.

A lot of her friends from childhood had moved to be near their kids when they became grandparents. This was something she couldn't relate to yet, as neither of her children had settled down yet. Still, she understood why that was a good motivation to move. She would do the same in a heartbeat if she had any.

Still, other friends and connections had passed away. Many of the people who were adults when she grew up had died or been moved into a nursing home. There were so few people that remembered her as 'Vicky' the pretty little blonde girl of the neighborhood.

Speaking of...she hadn't felt pretty in a long time. Marco always told her how beautiful she was, but after he passed 5 years ago, she felt the lack of affirmation. She realized now how much that encouragement had kept her from noticing the years marching. Her eyes were really starting to droop, with crow's feet and laugh lines. She hadn't put on too much weight, but overall her skin was fading and sagging. It's been many years since she felt 'sexy' when she looked into the mirror.

She sighed and drank more of her coffee. "Just another plain day."

But her frown turns around as your car pulls into her drive. "David! Oh dear, what are you doing here? Don't you need to be heading to work? Your shift starts in 15 minutes."

You think about testing your powers again. "I did Mom, but my boss said I could take the day off." You say. And suddenly, you get a text on your phone, its your boss...pretty much saying exactly that! It reads, "David, you get the day off; won't be needing you today. It turns out we're fumigating the office and Corporate didn't think to tell me!"
