“Don’t you DARE bring Mom into this!” Cassie screamed, flipping the table over and floating in the air, getting right up in her father’s face. “I’VE been the one trying to bring Fonzie in for the past two years! I’VE been the one trying to bring Mom back! YOU let her walk out on us!”

“How dare you—" Kenneth started to growl.

“NO!” Cassie hollered. “You let her walk out and leave me without a mother when I was FIVE! You sat at home and never ONCE tried to find her! You let Fonzie take over the whole city! You let your teenage daughter try to fix this city all by herself! I’m in this situation because of YOU!”

As soon as those words left Cassie’s mouth, her anger evaporated, replaced quickly with horror. She couldn’t believe she’d said that, or worse, believed it, even for a moment. And seeing her father’s expression go back and forth from rage to grief at being told off in such a manner made her slowly lower back down to the floor, her lip quivering from the fallout of the sheer emotional outburst.

“...Get out,” Kenneth muttered, breaking the silence.

Cassie shook her head slowly, reaching out for her father. “...Daddy…”

“Don’t call me that,” Kenneth replied, backing away as Cassie cried. “...I don’t know who you are anymore…but you’re not my daughter.”

Starslip held herself tightly, sobbing hard enough to make her whole body shake. For a long time, the office remained otherwise silent. That was, until the mob boss slowly began to clap, declaring “Well, I guess that means we both lost the trust of the people closest to us."

The Purple Paragon shook in rage as she glared daggers through her nemesis' face. "...If you are going to stand there and expect me to say that what happened to me is the same as what happened to you—"

"Oh, and there it is!" Tammy exclaimed, closing the gap between the two. "That hollier-than-thou attitude that I fucking despise! That mindset where I can't POSSIBLY suffer the way YOU do, because I'm such a horrible person! Face it, blondie: We're BOTH criminals! We’ve ALWAYS been criminals! The only difference is that I accept that and use my status as one for my benefit! You'd just rather be sad and complain that being what you are ruins your life, and expect everyone to feel sorry for you!"

"You know, my dad was right!" Starslip shouted in Fonzie's face. "I must've been insane to ever want to even TOUCH you, you disgusting, evil WHORE!"

Alfonso grit her teeth hard, shoving her forehead to the young heroine's. "And I should've done what the other mob bosses told me to do years ago, and cut your fucking annoying head off for them to spit on!"
