Time to setup that healthy glow

With fitness squared away, Paul picked up a flyer they recently received for a local salon.

“GRAND RE-OPENING! Up to 50% select packages of tanning, electrolysis, mani-/pedi-s, and more!”, the ad started with standard qualifiers following, ”Coupon required. Limit one package. Time restrictions and subject to availability... blah blah blah”

Remembering back the cringe of tan hose with pale body, he knew he couldn’t go through that. Calling the number on the ad, a perky voice picked up, “Desirée’s Designs! This is Brooke. What beauty design do you desire?”

“Um, high, ya, I was calling about your coupon ad we got.”

“Oh great!! Yes, we’re so happy for the restrictions being lifted but we’re make our safety & hygiene paramount so we have limited availability now. But we can get everything scheduled today! What services were you interested in?”

“Well, um, do you do tanning for uh... guys, or....”

“Oh, certainly, sir! We cater to everyone’s desire for enhancing their natural beauty. Have you had a tanning session before?”

This girl was persistent for sure, but Paul still wasn’t sure this is really what he was needing.

“Um, no. I am really pale and don’t really tan well; just kind of burn, but with the whole isolation I seem even paler than normal, so... was looking for a way to kind look not so ghostly.”

Brooke chuckled knowing this guy had no clue what he was looking for. “well, it sounds like you might be not do well with the UV treatment that traditional tanning bed if you tend to burn, but you could be a perfect candidate for our state of the art spray tan solution. Expertly applied by our professional artist its ensured to give you a healthy glow for at least a solid week. The weekly repetitive packages are eligible for the special, too. How many weeks can I schedule for you?”

The sales pitch was way more than what he was looking for. He just wanted to try out and see how it looked and set something up for Halloween.

“Ya, it sounds nice, but I’m not sure about signing up for something I don’t know how will look on me. How about I just sign up for a quick session and if it works then we can set up something more.”

“Well, you could do that, sir, and I could set that up for you. But, the special is only for full packages. Two sessions scheduled at different times wouldn’t be available for the current sale. However, we could setup 8 weekly sessions today for half price. If you’re not happy with the result after a session, we can do a one-time transfer to another service of your choice and you can enjoy a totally new service. So how about we set that up for you?”

“Ya, I’m not sure I am ready for that, tha...”

Brooke could tell he was trying to back out so she quickly pressed on it, “I totally understand that, sir. And I can appreciate that, and look, they don’t like when I point this out & could totally get in trouble for this, but you can also transfer this package one time to a member of your household. So even if you weren’t completely satisfied, you could use it as a surprise treat for that special someone. They can also move it to their preferred service too. Mani-pedi, massage, make-over, whatever they like. So when would you like to try this out and get that healthy glow?”

“Umm... ya, that’s nice, but I kinda want to think about it.” He was feeling really out of his element here and this all seemed to be happening.

“You definitely could, sir, but I have to tell you we’ve been really limited on our spots with the new health requirements and we’ve been filling up. We’ve been booking out months in the future. It could be very likely we might not have space until Thanksgiving if you wait very long.” Maybe if he waited a month or too, but she wasn’t going to let this fish off the hook; she really needed to up her sales and that commission is sooo worth it.

“Thanksgiving??? Really. Um, ya, that is a lot later than I needed...”

“Great! So how about we go ahead and schedule out those 8 weekly sessions to keep your tan even week to week and then we can get you in here now for half price?”

“Could we just do a partial try to start with? Like just my back or something in case there is a problem?”

GREAT! She thought. She had him just need to reel him in. “Oh, yes, you can discuss exactly what you want with your artist and they can ensure you desire is met perfectly. It looks like I could set you up for Wednesdays at 10a; would that work for you?”

He figured even if this didn’t work out it could be a great present for Molly. And he had to get something setup before Halloween; November would do absolutely nothing for him. He had to get this right. “Um, sure why not.”

“Perfect, sir! We’ll get you fixed right up! Let me just get your card details and lock in your times. Also, make sure you visit our website and read the title 'Prepping for your spray tan' to ensure you’re ready for your session.”

Paul gave her all his details and signed up for. He couldn’t fathom what he would need to get sprayed. He figured he’d look later but probably just want to make sure you’ve showered and stuff.

With that taken care of, he had to get onto other things.
