Jessica Green, Alexa’s Neighbor and Former Classmate

“I’m Jessica,” the girl said. “Jessica Green. We went to high school together. I was on the softball team.”

“Oh wow,” Michelle said. “I didn’t even recognize you.”

“I actually live next door to Alexa,” Jessica said.

Alexa blushed. “S-sorry, Jessica,” Alexa said. “I uh didn’t realize it was you. I forgot you worked here.”

“That’s okay,” Jessica said with a smile. “Well, Merry Christmas. Although, I am curious… do you have a baby sister or cousin or something?”

“Huh?” Alexa said.

“You know, the one who needs the diapers,” Jessica said.

“Oh,” Alexa said. “Uh, yeah.”

“It’s for my baby cousin,” Michelle said. “She still needs diapers even at 5 years old. A bit of a late bloomer.”

“Oh,” Jessica said. “Well that’s okay. I’m sure she will figure it out. In that case though, you’ll probably want the nighttime daytime deal. You can buy one of each and then get an extra package 50% off.”

“Oh,” Michelle said. “I dunno if we need that many.”

“Nonsense,” Jessica said. “You might as well take advantage of the deal. Your cousin will go right through them otherwise. Trust me. They always use more than you think. Besides it’s a limited offer.”

Michelle looked at Alexa and then nodded. “Alright,” she said.

Michelle grabbed three packages of diapers and put them in the cart. “Do you need supplies too?” Jessica asked.

Michelle nodded. “Yeah,” she said.

“Okay, then let me take you to them,” Jessica said as she led Michelle and Alexa further down the aisle. “Right there is a bundle of baby wipes, baby powder, and baby oil. If your cousin is prone to rashes, then you’ll also want the diaper cream for extra protection. Also we have some limited edition christmas pacifiers in case you want them too.”

Michelle nodded and loaded the supplies into the cart.

They then turned the corner and Alexa froze in her tracks. Michelle looked to see where Alexa was looking.
