Who does Mark decide to hang out with

It turns out that Jackson’s little outburst had set the end of their friendly late night chat around the fire. Coming back to the campsite, Mark saw that the fire was still burning but the chairs around it were all empty.

Straight away, he went to his own tent, knowing he was going to find his ex-girlfriend inside studying. Opening up the tent, he could see Tiffany’s face immediately, lit up by the laptop screen.

“You studying again?” he asked her a very obvious question.

She nodded, “Sorry I really need a couple more hours before bed. I can go elsewhere if you need to sleep right now.”

He shook his head, “It’s alright, keep going, I’ll stay up for a bit longer and come back in a couple of hours.”

“Thanks Mark, really appreciate it,” she said, continuing to type again.

He had to admit that he was a little disappointed. Mark could understand completely why she was so focused on this. As a senior, this was coming up to a couple of the biggest weeks of her life so far. But he was hoping to see more of the bright side of Tiff that he had fallen in love with in the first place.

Sharing the tent with her and Jess, he thought it would be the perfect chance but maybe his luck wasn’t here this week in terms of that trio.

He looked around to see who was still up. Jess and Macca were the only ones he could initially see that were still up. Just twenty metres away from the fire, the two were sitting down having a chat, both still drinking.

Mark thought about joining them at first but they appeared to be in a serious conversation and he wasn’t willing to intrude on them.

Hearing some laughter from Miranda and Winter’s tent, he figured his time might be better spent there.

Mark walked over to the front of the girls’ tent.

“Hey girls?” Mark said out loud from the outside of their tent.

“Yeah?!” they said in unison.

“Mind if I join you’s for a bit?
