Chapter 2 by GoddessOfNaked GoddessOfNaked

What is your gender?

Male

"-sir!"

You kinda unwilling looked over to the source of the voice, it being an average peddler by the looks of it. They had all kinds of odd things at their stand. They had a sign set up as well. 'Relics and Curios Throughout the Ages'. Mainly all seemed like junk. You know they are gonna try to sell you on buying something though. You're bored so, you decided to humor them, approaching the peddler as they immediately started to make things sound interesting.

"I can tell you as someone who has an eye for great and curious things! I've spent my life traveling and looking for relics of ages long since past!"

Yeah, you can tell he's just gonna try to sell you some trinkets he probably just made himself and claim them as ancient and valuable. Probably scam you out of a few bucks. But again, your bored. Nothing much happens in your life. No girlfriend, not much you do besides your part time job or going to the arcade or internet cafe, plus the occasional DnD campaign you'd partake in. Maybe you could find something neat he has.

He starts to show you some of his wares. There were plenty of things but, just about all of them weren't that interesting. Set of earrings worn by ancient kings? Looked like something you saw at Walmart. A sword sheath he claimed once held a powerful magic sword inside? Reminded you of something from a King Arthur Halloween costume. Just about everything was boring, as expected. However your gaze slowly went to a box tucked behind some of the other stuff. It was jet black, with some fancy gold trimming. The gold looked legit.

"Hey, what's with the box?" You ask him, pointing at said box as you inquired about it.

"What? This? Oooh, you have a sharp eye friend! This, oooh this." The peddler brought over the box, opening it to show a heart shaped pendant inside. It was rather beautiful yet, something in it made your heart sink when you gazed on it. Or maybe that was just your wallet. "This is quite a find! I found this box, and the pendant while out on vacation in Europe...er, by vacation I mean on one of my many treasure hunts! From my careful and thorough appraisal, I believe that this pendant, should it be worn, will help whoever wears it find their soul mate!"

"Interesting...so why didn't you use it yourself?"

"W-well I um...I already am married! I have no need for such a bobble. For you my friend though, I'm sure it would greatly help in your love life! What say the low low price of...60 dollars?"

You could practically hear your wallet screaming at you. You knew this guy was probably just busting your chain but, finding a soul mate...you have been kinda lonely these days.

Do you buy the locket?
