Lauren heads home

Lauren, totally dejected, exhausted from her workout and humiliated, hurried to the locker room to change. Even once she had on her padded bra, Spanx and designer clothing, she didn't feel any of her regular confidence or swagger. She left, avoiding the film crew and other contestants as she hurried out to her car, too embarrassed to face anyone.

Lauren then drove home. Expect she didn't have a home anymore: it was her mother's house. Once there she showered and then sulked in her room bitterly, replaying the day in her head and avoiding leaving as much as she could.

The next evening, Lauren's mother opened her bedroom door.

"Lauren, you're show is about to be on!" Her mother said. "The whole family is ready, come watch it."

"I don't want to!" Lauren pouted, crossing her arms angrily.

"Lauren, you need to take this seriously." Her mother said sternly. "If you don't win this show, you might go to jail! So, you need to get out here right now and watch, to study and learn."

Glumly, and with growing shame, Lauren shuffled out after her mother...
