He looked around nervously for his swim trunks in the swimming hole while treading water.

"Do you girls see my swim trunks?" he called out to Marsha and Suzie.

Marsha and Suzie looked around for the swim trunks but they saw nothing.

Dan was thankful that the water was dark because it hid his nakedness; but he realized that he would never be able to find his swim trunks in this dark water.
