The Beginning of the End

Slate and Fang were back at the old sea temple as they stood before a sleeping captured Hope..

“So what is all this?” Asked Fang

“It’s simple… I’m doing a little experiment right now on Miss Hope!”

“What kind of experiment?”

“Ohh Nothing too big just Umm…. You wouldn’t get it!”

“Try me I’m a Master of different types of magic!” Said Fang

Slate began to whisper his plan to him..

“Sounds pretty big, but what’s in it for me?”

“Help me with my experiment and I’ll give you an Artefact of your choice!”

“What kind do you have?”

Slate laid out his entire collection as Fang pointed to the Orb of Ongoing..

“That Orb…. May I have it?”

“Of course…. Provided you can complete my commission of course!”

“Deal!”

They shook hands as Slate walked out to the portal that remained open to their base…

“Wonder how Xevers doing with the next Artefact!” Said Slate as he walked out the other side..

Meanwhile in their prison Dasher and Ellie looked around…

“Ready?” Asked Ellie

“Ready!” Said Dasher as Ellie used vibrating speeds to phase her arm through the bars and open the door..

“Pheww… that was exhausting!” Said Ellie as they saw Claudius with Peridox

They saw Slate leaving the portal room as they talked with each other…

“And I’m telling you that we should ditch this whole operation now!!” He said

“Why… Slate seems more than a capable leader and he knows what he’s doing!” Said Peridox

“Yeah… but I have a feeling that man thinks of us as expendable!!”

“How come?”

“I’ve been in criminal backgrounds long enough to know which one betrays the other first!!” Said Claudius

“And you think Slate will do that?”

“Forget it…. You wanna stick around that’s fine!!” He said as he input a destination into the portal and left the place…

“Well come to think about it…. I think it’s time I struck out on my own too!” She said as she left the same way…

Xever came through with a book Artefact and the Lapis Lake Bowl…

“We’re back…. And…”

“We brought some extra company!!” Said Xever as Triborg came out with Cerci, Sprite, and Genie in their arms..
