Violet(20) - A dropout starting over at community college

While riding the bus home, you smile to yourself. Things are going better at your new school. It might not be the linear path from school to degree to job that you assumed you were born into, but at least now you can study things you’re actually interested in, and manage to keep up with your classes. The slower pace in particular has been helping your emotional state a lot.

You’re majoring in Computer Science now, and one of the two classes you’re taking that’s actually in your field of study (your C# class) has been really cool. To your surprise, you’re not the only visibly queer person there. The short hair and the tattoo of possums hugging were kind of a giveaway. You haven’t really worked up the courage to talk to them yet, but maybe one day.

Outside of class, you even have time for a social life! You’re four weeks into your first semester here, and you’ve been spending the hours-long gaps between classes at the campus LGBT Resource Center. That’s where you met Poison, an ASL student and wicked cool goth. At least, that’s their current major. Apparently they’ve been through a few in their six year stay.

Funny timing, you have a new message from them right now.

This seems like a fairly easy fix, but you’re not sure how you would confirm that it’s fixed without running it. Besides, a file that looks like that usually comes from a sketchy site, and Poison probably doesn’t have the same precautions on their phone that you have on yours.

Author’s Note Addendum: The Author’s Note above may look like a garbled mess due to a Chyoa policy change that censors specific words.
