Go help or Go away?

Go help

Of course Julie would help a fellow woman, rushing towards the house.

But as she got closer, she noticed in the window, that there was more infected than expected, gladly with no special ones in sight.

It was too late to back of, so she took out her bat and got into the house, trying to kill the infected from the back, and doing so pretty successfully.

"Oh God... Oh Jesus, thank you! Y-you saved my life!" The woman said gladly, breathing heavily after what happened, with her clothes torn.

"No worries, but we need to go, there can be mo-" But Julie weren't able to finish, as she heard one of the Boomers calling for more infected. "Fuck, we need to leave. NOW!"

Julie told the woman, quickly grabbing her hand and escaping through the back door, seeing the zombies swarming as they came to the call. Women ran and ran, not stopping until it was quiet. They got into an abandoned farmhouse, with still nameless woman's bare feet hurting from running on the stones and crashed car glass.

"I-I can't... Mngh..." She whimpered in pain, sitting down onto the wooden stairs.

"Well, I'm gonna check the house, if you see anything, get inside. I'll try and find something for your feet..." Julie answered, getting her bat ready again and walking in. The house was empty and unlooted, feels like the family was unprepared and left quickly. Julie found some medical supplies and came back to the woman, dealing with her feet.

"Sooo... What's your name? Mine's Julie." Julie asked, politely saying hers first.

"Catherine... My name is Catherine." The woman answered, smiling. "So... The house is clear? We can stay there?"

"Yup, checked everything. You haven't seen any infected?" Julie answered, than catiously specifying.

"Nope, haven't seen any." Catherine said.

After that they walked into the house, looking around and collecting supplies. Julie hasn't ate in a whole day, so she opened a can of tomato soup and heated it up on a gas stove, after connecting it to the gas can near it. It was peaceful, and girls talked for a while, about the life before and how Catherine got to where she is. Her husband died a week ago, beaten to **** by infected, but letting Catherine escape.

And so, they ate together and barricaded the doors and windows, as the time slowly got to the sunset. Girls agreed on staying awake in shifts, to watch the house and its surroundings.

Catherine was one to sleep first, with Julie staying awake with her trusty bat.

Would it be a quiet night?
