Lauren thinks quickly

Doing her best to cover herself, Lauren thought furiously. The important thing, she reminded herself, was not to panic. Yes, she was now stuck in the past, butt-naked in a public hospital. But panicking would not improve her situation. Without her technology or good looks, all she had to rely on was her natural brilliance. Surely she could figure out how to get out of this situation!

Unbelievable as it seemed at the moment, things could be worse. If she had traveled further into the past, recreating her time machine would be impossible. 1997 might have the technology she needed, provided she could get her hands on it. Of course, that would require money, of which she had none. She didn’t even have clothing!

Lauren shook her head. Finding something to wear had to be her priority at the moment. It was freezing in here! More importantly, if she was arrested for public indecency, she’d never be able to return to her own time. At least, not without taking the long way there. The question was, where could she find some clothes?

Scanning the hall for either clothing or people, Lauren spotted a cart loaded with towels. Hurrying towards it, she managed to snag one of them, quickly wrapping it around herself. There. Not as good as actual clothing, but better than nothing. She might be able to make up some kind of story if someone caught her.

No sooner had she finished that thought, she heard the door behind her open. Spinning around, she saw a doctor staring at her curiously.
