Time skip to... Another private party?

A dinner was rented out one night, a month after Lauren met the fortune teller. There was over 25 guests attending and there were unsure what was happening. They only sat and ate their free meal, discussing various things with the people they know best. One question often came up...

“For the 15th tine don’t have any idea what’s going on either!” Vanessa repeats her answer, as her mother tries to enjoy her steak.

“You’re her sister, surely you asked when we got this days ago?!” Charlotte asks.

“I tried, but she told me vague things, like to wait, if I knew I’d ruin the surprise for everyone, you’ll see, crap like that all the time!” Vanessa tells them.

“I will say Lauren has been behaving differently.” The mother of the two sisters said. “She crashes when she gets home, saying she found work that makes money. Telling me she’s using it for something important in the future. Now I was worried what kinda work this was, but she only said that I shouldn’t worry because it is a real professional business with no backroom shenanigans.” She said, while cutting her meat. “She did say I could meet her boss, but I decided I’d take her word on it if she was willing to set up a meeting with her superior . and her mother.”

The girls just look at the woman. “That does raise some red flags, but uh ok. Umm anyway I guess that explains how we got this place rented out to us, but we still have no answer as for why!” Charlotte complains.

Suddenly serval jingles started going off as phones received messages. Everyone either waited for it or read the simple message they received from Lauren...

“Take your seat everyone! The main event is about to begin :)”

Charlotte sighs and returns to her seat. People quieted down as the two workers of the dinner, who were told to help handle this event, sat at an empty booth marked ‘Employees only.’

From the kitchen area steps were heard. The dinner was silent everyone could hear the one in the kitchen approach closer. The stepping grew in sound for a bit, until it stopped.... Then the kitchen door opened!
