Chapter 22 by Corruption Corruption

Does the party do it?

Reluctantly

The guys grumbled, and the girls were confused, so you gently told the ladies “Listen, you will probably level up before the Patch is made. This way you get the Stone Crafting skill, and you can let others know of a way to by-pass a glitch. Besides, I like seeing people who seem cocky brought down a peg. They considered themselves above such work, and to me that is arrogance.”

You could not resist adding “The only reason he agreed was he liked the idea of ordering Players around and seeing them on their hands and knees, doing actual work instead of causing trouble, often in murderous rampages. It will also get him in a good mood for latter negotiation over stone.”

The party works in two groups of three, with you working with the ladies. Oddly, the three of you, who had the lowest strength attributes, got your half done in two thirds the time of the others. The ladies noticed the guys were being lazy.

When you had finished your work, and were waiting for the guys, the 3 of you used the sewing kits to fix any damage to your clothes.

After a rest, (and while the guys were having theirs) you spoke with the foreman, “Listen, with the glitches, you might need an alternate supply of stone that normal for a bit. How about we get you some cheep?”

He laughed. “With all the stone we have backed up! You are dreaming!”

You smile sadly at him. “I can just imagine some players, or NPCs who get a Claimant Crystal from them claiming an area in the town, like an abandoned warehouse, manor, the sewers and other things. They will want stone, and not to bother harvesting it. They will also need it to build up their defenses and that would be done as quickly as possible. That means they will probably try stealing it from you. After all, which do you think many would rather do, spend hours harvesting stone and getting bored, or raid your warehouse, get the stone and XP from killing your guys, all within 5 or 10 minutes tops?”

The foreman swore. You had just warned him of a danger he had not expected.

Now the negotiations started.

Do you strike a deal?
