Chapter 69

You am reading.
Ugh, get those rocks out of your brain.
The hulking mass of rubble stumbled about, peering with its faceless gaze across the landscape. "Where... creator..."
Well, this is going to be yet another mess, isn't it?
The mousey mage manages tip-toes forth. "Um... Hi, R-Rocky. I'm..."
The earthen creation leans down, its bulk dwarfing all. "Creator... Rocky... Protect."
"Oh, wow... I mean, yes! Do that!" Says Zana.
Ashes approaches Zana, whispering over her shoulder. "Isn't he a bit big for a cart trip?"
She whispers back. "Oh, I've read about this kind of stuff; watch this."
Turning back to the enormous golem, Zana straightens her hat, and holding out her open palm. "Rocky, please assume a form that can fit my hand."
"Yes... Creator..."
Rocky reaches up with a torso sized fist, and slams deep into it's own "chest," pulling something out, and handing it to Zana. Then, it's body begins to fall too pieces. The unknown thing now held by our Sorcerer friend appeared to be a few smaller rocks, pebbles, and a palm sized, smooth stone; which bares an engraving with a faint amber glow.
The smaller stones then began to reform around the stone, creating what looked like a very, very small version of Rocky, with the engraved stone acting as a very oversized head.
A very squeaky voice then comes from this mini-golem. "Did... I... do... good?"
Gabbie puts her free hand on her own cheek, looking very amused. "Aw... it's adorable."
"Yes, Rocky. Very good." Says Zana, looking at the tiny golem as though it were a newborn puppy.
Cilla begins tapping her foot impatiently. "This is lovely and all, but may we please go now. We're losing daylight."
Six becomes seven, and a diversion leads towards progress. We make our way over towards the corral, with the occasional hiccup due to Zana and Gabriella being too busy playing with Rocky to focus on walking. We arrive to the primary buildings door, entering with no issue.
The interior is rather homely, wooden; as always. There are seated sections, presumably for waiting or resting ones feet, and two desks, both of which are currently being used.
Behind the desks are two identical elves, both women. They each have silky, long, black hair, flowing down their back. Each wear the same white blouse, long red skirt, and tan sandals. The one on the left is smiling, sitting behind a desk that seems to have been ransacked, with papers strewn about, ink stains, and broken quills all about. The one on the right's desk appears to be spotless, with all of her paperwork being perfectly aligned; she, however, seems seconds away from falling asleep.
The woman behind the leftmost desk shuffles a few quills, bored as can be until she spots us. "Are you here for travel out, or are you just arriving?"
"Leaving." I answer.
"Where too?" She asks.
I look over to the others; where exactly are we headed?
"Bludbag" Says Cilla.
The left desk girl begins frantically moving papers around her desk. "Oh my... Well, we won't have any transport with the correct protections for..."
The woman on the right desk hands a piece of paper over to the other.
Leftie quickly scans the parchment. "A week. I'm so sorry about the hassle."
Scott begins pacing about. "Oh, lovely, we're locked out of town for a weeks worth of waiting, when I need to sate my curse... next loop I'm warning you all about the door."
"But then we won't have Rocky..." Says Zana.
"If you need lodging for the night, we can provide it; given that you're paying customers." Says Righty.
The leftmost one straightens back up, and presenting a big smile. "I'm Pon, by the way."
The rightmost one yawns. "My name is Nae. Food costs extra, if you're staying."
Well...
At least we won't be sleeping in a barn...
