A Change in Protocol

As Janeway and her crew relaxed on their week of medical leave Janeway noticed two strange things. One that parts of the station were locked even to her command codes and two that her crew were the only people in that section. After discussing the matter they reached a conclusion that this was most likely a security protocol by Starfleet to make sure they didn't start turning Borg or in the case of Seven of Nine even more Borg. Satisfied Janeway didn't give it much more though but did resolve to bring it up to Starfleet after they concluded their leave. Soon the week was up and on the eighth day a team of Starfleet officers entered their sectioned off area.

Janeway recognized Admiral Alynna Nechayev, an unknown female Captain and Commanders Valeria Archer and Elizabeth Shelby. Nechayev took Janeway aside and said there had been new regulations instated on her mission and were currently being followed through by three other ships with the same mission parameters. However Nechayev also warned that the regulations were still confidential and anyone that they were revealed to would have to stay on the mission. After gathering her crew and informing them of what Nechayev told her Janeway was pleased that no one wanted to leave. As the Captain took the officers to a conference room and the two commanders took the crewmen to different conference room Nechayev guided the senior staff to a meeting room.

Nechayev informed the crew of the three main changes that would be required of them. First of all the uniforms which left the wrong parts exposed which was met by some frustration by the officers and secret delight of others. Second their mission profile which now focused on negotiations with known species. The third Nechayev stated wouldn't be the easiest to explain and pulled up a picture of phalic look devices attached to a standard chair. As some confusion and frustration arose Nechayev calmly explained that the devices were interplexing probes designed to only activate their corresponding control stations. Accepting the situation with a helpless shrug Janeway asked if their ship was ready. Nechayev confirmed that they were and took the crew outside the briefing room where they were met by the rest of the crew.

Soon uniforms were passed around which the crew reluctantly put on. [Author Note: images of the alternate uniforms are available under the character outfit chapter]. The crew grew more confident though when they saw other female officers around the Starbase wearing similar uniforms. Soon they reached the space dock and to some surprise they saw an older Constellation class vessel. Nechayev quickly explained that some of the initial designs of the Constellation class were brought back by Starfleet with significant refitting. After Starfleet was done with it though the outer hull was about the only thing that was still the same. All the systems were upgraded to modern standards. As the crew boarded and went to their respective stations they soon found the interplexing probes. On the bridge Janeway decided she might as well set an example for the crew and lowered her vagina onto the interplexing probe on her chair. Although she wasn't used to having to command a ship in this manner the probe slid in easily and comfortably.

Soon Jadzia followed her lead and slid the probe into her as she took the operations station. Yar soon followed although a pole had to be used to extend the probe up from the floor since tactical was a standing station. Soon the rest of the bridge crew took their stations with some reluctance. Due to the nature of their work the probes were designed to easily detach from one station and reconnect to another. In sick bay and the science labs the staff took their designated seats and slid down onto the probes. In Engineering there was the most resistance from Torres but eventually she lowered herself onto the probe attached to the primary console. As all decks reported ready the Starfleet command disembarked as the Starbase doors slid open. Ro slowly eased the ship out using thruster power before engaging impulse engines as they cleared the Starbase. Soon they had jumped to warp and set a course for the Klingon homeworld to renew treaty negotiations.
