Metamorphosis

“The blood of ouroboros is a catalyst and there is a low chance that upon consumption it will cause your body to go through a kind of metamorphosis. During the metamorphosis, the cells present in the blood will merge with major organs and tissues within your nervous system.” After explaining this bit she paused to gauge my reaction as well as giving me an opportunity to ask questions.

Taking my opportunity, I asked the most obvious one, “Will it change how I perceive the world around me?”

As if expecting this she confidently replied, “Yes, when the cells have finished merging with your nervous system, they will effectively have enhanced your five senses. Basically this means that you will be able to sense the life energy within yourself as well as other living things around you via your senses.”

“I understand but how will it change my perceptions? Will green things remain green? Will fires still be hot? What about taste and smell?”

“Things that are not alive will remain as you perceive them now but for alive things like grass, the greens will be greener than before.”

“Okay I think I understand. That isn’t such a bad side effect.”

“That’s only the first stage of the metamorphosis. Next the cells that merged with your body will begin reproducing. These new cells, in functionality, resemble what you call a ‘stem cell’ and they will move within your body to the most appropriate areas for the creation of new tissues and mini-organs.”

“So you don’t know where they will go?” I asked rhetorically.

“Actually I do know where they will go. For men the cells will begin forming an organ for storing life energy within the large intestine and the small intestine will be reshaped into a more efficient energy converter. Basically it will completely process any byproduct your body deems as waste to such an extent that only gasses like carbon dioxide, nitrogen, methane, etc, are all that’s left.”

“So what you’re saying is that I won’t need to take a shit anymore?” I scoffed.

“Yes.”

“Wow! Okay, that’s efficient! So what happens to the processed waste?”

“It's converted into life energy and stored within the organ that was formed in the large intestine.”

“Okay, I think I understand all the changes now.” I said confidently.

“Not so fast, that’s not all the changes that will happen.”

Sigh, “what else?”

“Well, the body is just barely capable of producing enough energy to sustain itself and still have a little left over for storing. As if conscious of this, the reproduced cells begin moving to various parts of the body that can potentially receive life energy and like your small intestine, they help reshape those parts of the body to efficiently extract as much life energy as possible.”

“Okay…. So I will become a vampire or something? Are you a vampire?”

“If you want to you can but the consequence of taking even a little bit of life energy from an organism will cause a severe disruption to homeostasis and from there the organism's internal organs may fail which can lead to ****. Also no, I don’t believe it is ethical to cause that kind of damage to another for my own gain.”

“I apologize for insulting you like that.”

“It’s okay, you didn’t know the consequences of doing that.”

“By the way, can you tell me which parts of the body will be reshaped?”

“Yes I can! The major parts of a man that will be reshaped are his mouth and anus.”

“Wait, you’re not going where I think you’re going are you?”

“I’m sorry but yes.”
