Nap and Cook

Sure enough Mai quickly drifted off into a deep sleep, my own body feeling a bit drained but that was easily taken care of with a few sips of water and a light snack. With that taken care of I decided why not make something for dinner, a bit more filling for the two of us and a gesture that I'm sure that Mai would appreciate. Soon enough I decided on making a small sort of stew with the vegetables and the meat I had on hand, a quick recipe that I had made several times in the past.

Some time into the middle of making my stew I heard the sound of creaking floorboards, my eyes glancing over my shoulder to find Mai dressed in one of her new outfits, the black pants and long sleeved shirt accentuating her body while keeping it deliciously modest. I chuckled as her slightly awkward walk, her legs still trembling a bit as she took a seat at the kitchen table, "Good morning beautiful, how are you feeling?"

Mai rolled her eyes at me, a small smirk coming across her lips as she spoke, "You watched me walk in, you can tell me." I laughed and gave her a smile, something that had proven to cause a blush to rush right to her face. Sure enough Mai's cheeks tinted lightly and she turned away, placing her head in her hands as a bored gesture as she looked around the room. Suddenly a thought struck me, looking over to Mai with a raised eyebrow I asked, "Hey Mai, if I remember correctly you're really good at throwing knives right?"

Mai nodded, silent so I just continued, "so where are they? You usually go nowhere without them." Before I could finish my thought a knife whizzed by my head, Mai's confident smirk sending shivers down my spine, "In my sleeves John. True, this clothing can't hold as much as my old outfits but it serves the purpose well enough." Seeing me still started from her throw John rolled her eyes, "Oh please John, I've done that a thousand times before. Don't tell me you're getting scared now." I couldn't help my shiver as I turned back to the stew, "I'll never get used to that, I swear."

After a bit more light conversation Mai and I sat down to dinner, the both of us enjoying the meal in peace and quiet, a bit of conversation between the two of us as we ate. Soon enough the food was finish and after refrigerating the left overs, something Mai found fascinating, I asked her what she wanted to do next. With a bit of thought Mai looked over into the front room, her eyebrow raised as she pointed to the TV, "We never did sit down to truly watch that thing." I shrugged, true enough I suppose...
