Chapter 34 by Yellowjack42 Yellowjack42

So is Mai just looking for warmth or is she being sneaky again?

Warmth is very important

As they "sometimes a sigh is just a sigh" and apparently what Mai wanted was simply warmth, my body quickly curling up against me with a a quiet mumble before she fell into a deep and comfortable slumber. After what I felt was well over a half hour I cast a glance at the clock by my side. I quickly noticed it had only just passed the noon marker and since I hadn't had much in the way of anything to eat before Mai came to my door, I was absolutely famished. Looking over to Mai I found her to be in a relatively deep sleep so with a quiet and careful movement I slid out of bed, replacing my presence with a few more blankets before I skirted downstairs to take care of some food.

In short order I made myself a sandwich and some chips, a simple meal that would give me back some energy and would fill me up a bit. After my meal I took Mai's clothes out of the washer and hung them up to dry, didn't want them shrinking too much on Mai...or did I? I chuckled to myself and set up Mai's clothes before heading back to my living room, a yawn on my lips as I cleaned up the various messes that Mai and I had left during our earlier 'romp.'

Just as I got the last bit of furniture back into place I heard the soft creaking of the steps behind me, my eyebrow quirked as I turned around to find Mai with several blankets wrapped around her pale skinned body. It was obvious that she had just recently awoken, her hair still undone and strewn across her shoulders in a very messy but freshly brushed mop. Her eyes were half closed and she seemed to be even more stone faced than usual, boredom expressed quite loudly as she spoke in her signature monotone, "Where did you go?"

I smiled at her, earning a slight pinkening of her cheeks in the process, "I just grabbed some food and straightened up the living room." Mai nodded, accepting the answer as she tottered down the stairs, collapsing into a pile of blankets and hair on the couch near by. "So John," she spoke, her golden eyes unfocused at she stared at the ceiling, "What is there to do for fun around here?" I chuckled softly, "well, in this modern age there's plenty of things to do...but most of us just watch something called television." Judging by her raised eyebrow and her attention now focused on me I could tell she was interested, "Television? What is that?"

How do you explain it?
