Breakfast

"Amy I shhhmell burning." Brendan said pulling away from their embrace.

"Oh Shit!" Amy exclaimed rushing for the stove top. "I don't supposed you like your bacon extra extra crispy do you?"

"Ssshhadly I never cared for extra extra crishhhpy." Brendan responded.

"Well I guess you're gonna have to wait a bit longer for food then." Amy said as she cleared off the skillet and put on fresh bacon. "I don't really know where you keep all plates and silverware so if you could get some for us that would be great.

"Shhhhure." Brendan nodded as he welcomed the task as a simple distraction. He manuvered around the kitchen untill he opened one cupboard. His while he wasn't a giant as a man he was still fairly tall at a little over 6 foot, and while he was able to barely reach the cups the plates were now out of his reach. He hadn't measured how tall he was now but it couldnt be more than a few inches higher than five foot.

"Don't worry I'll get it." Amy quickly said when she noticed him staring up. After retreiving them for him he finished setting the table and went about brewing some coffe. As the coffe maker started up with a loud groaning noise he had to cover his now significantly more sensitive ears as he winced in pain. Retreating to his room he retrevied the beanie he wore yesterday and once again tucked his ears under as the world resumed a muted, but normal volume. As he turned back to the kitchen he grabbed the ray gun off the table and after making himself a coffe began to examine it at the table. Nothing seemed broken about it. No dings, no cracks or burns, but he wasnt an engineer much less one that specialized in practically magical devices.

"Any idea what's wrong with it." Amy said slipping a plate in front bacon and eggs in front of him.

"No idea." He responded placing it on the table as he dug into his breakfast.

"Have you tried it yet this morning? Maybe it just needed a cooldown?" Amy said picking it up and turning it in her hand.

"I doubt thhhat's what it is. If it needs to recharge that means it needs new batteries or somethhhhing. Unfortunatly it doesnt look like it takes AA's"

"Well maybe something got stuck in the barrel?" Amy posed as she closed one eye and tried to look down it.

"Idk if shhhtaring down the barrel of a gun is the bethht idea. Besides it just shot ray of light so nothing should be getting stuck in there anyway." Brendan informed.

"So maybe some dirt or a rock got stuck and is blocking the light. I wonder if I can see some light if I pull the trigger?" Amy mused as Brendan heard the audible *Click* of her pulling the trigger.
