Chapter 6
What option did he choose?
Familiar Face
Before Alex could even sit down at his favorite little cafe for lunch, a man slipped into the seat opposite, looking no older then him. Did the guy know him? He looked...somewhat familiar, but he couldn't place the guy. Maybe he was just lonely?
"Melissa?" The college-aged, excited looking boy asked.
"Uhm...no?" Alex responded. Was he being messed with? Who the hell was Melissa, and why was this idiot interrupting his lunch about her.
"You look just like a girl I was going to meetup with here. I'd figured you'd show eventually!" He said, waving the waitress over. Alex, confused beyond belief, questioned him.
"I'm sorry to tell you dude - but I'm a guy. My name is Alex, not Melissa. Seems like you got ghosted." Alex said, telling the waitress his usual order, with the boy telling his as well. Looking incredulous, he pulled his phone out, putting it up to Alex's face. Long since unamused at the lunch time annoyance, Alex swatted the phone from his face, with the boy putting it back, and asking the waitress if Alex looked like the girl.
"Her? Hun, she doesn't look like that girl at all. I saw you waiting over at that table since we opened. Were you stood up, and now you're harassing my customers?" The waitress said to the boy, who looked like he had been hit over the head; he put his phone down, and shook his head.
"N-no! Uhm. I'm not harassing her." He said to the waitress, who turned toward Alex, and smiled.
"Miss, is this true? Or would you like me to ask him to leave?" She asked with care.
"Mister." Alex said with his usual huff. "I'm not a girl. And as long as he stops asking if I'm his date, I don't care what he does, especially since he looks like he's going to cry."
"Oh. Sorry sweetie." The waitress said in shock, not looking like she quite believed what he said, but in any event, she turned toward the depressed looking man and wagged her finger before leaving.
"Sorry you got ditched dude. I hate to say it, but I definitely know the feel. You go to school here?" Alex asked as he sipped his coffee and fiddled with his sweatpants.
"Uh-huh. Damnit. I feel like an ass now. First for waiting for two hours for some girl, then for coming up to you and sitting with you. What do you study Alexa?" He asked, and Alex ignored his addition of an 'a' on his name, conversing with Gavyn (he made sure to emphasize the y in it), generally enjoying the conversation.
Eventually Alex's bill came, and he looked down at his cost, raising an eyebrow when he saw 0.00 for the charge.
"Alexis Davis, I used to babysit you a long time ago, remember?" The waitress asked with a big smile. "Too busy to talk, but don't worry about the bill, on the house. Goodness, I hardly recognized you, but with an adorable face like that, it was hard not to know!"
Before Alex could say a word, the waitress was gone, and he crumbled the bill up. What the hell was going on? He felt like either: the whole city had vowed to mess with him, or he just was the Main Character of some weird ass novel. Whichever option, Alex didn't want to wait around to find out, and he left the store with Gavyn, who held the door open for him, and followed him to his next class.
Shockingly, the two had had a class together the whole time, meaning Gavyn was more then happy to continue talking about his grandiose plans for Environmental Science, or how he would be the Class President next year; after class, Alex exchanged numbers with the boy, and checked his phone, realizing he had some time to kill on his walk back.
Opening up Gem Ladies, Alex played and walked. He was doing well, better then well, amazing. Then, out of nowhere, came a blast of rain, and Alex found himself distracted, rushing to cover. By the time he checked his phone again, he was down to the crunch time, meaning he had to rush to victory. He was seconds away from winning. Then appeared the mocking demon lady, and the three punishments.
Alex, having another 15 minutes to walk back in his tight, wet, gross clothes, quickly chose an option, and began to run back to his apartment. He needed a shower and a change of clothes. Three options were on the screen:
Blonde Moments - Infrequent bouts of bimbo-like behaviour affect the player.
It's a (growing) piece of cake - Ass grows 2 levels & user finds themselves obsessed with getting the 'perfect' rear, and is unable to prevent themselves from constantly working towards it
Forever Networking - User finds themselves always making new contacts, whether through verbal, digital, or other communication. Includes Professional, Personal, Sexual and other forms of networking. User becomes addicted to the 'high' of getting their name in everybody's mouths, male or female
What option did he pick?
