Someone meeting up at a gaming convention

There was a post on your preferred site of smut and memes about a tabletop gaming convention. The details are a bit hazy, but there's no price of entry and it seems to be open for all, with all sorts of computer, tabletop, cosplay and even some panels that would be hilarious to partake in!

As things are, you live quite far away from the place it's being arranged, so normally that would have been that. But, as luck would have it, you have a job-related meeting in that city the Friday after the convention opens! So, to kill two birds with one stone, you have made your arrangements to fit as much work and play into the weekend as you could!

You've booked a hotel room from Thursday until Sunday and taken the day off work to fly out early. Sleeping on the plane, you find yourself free of luggage by noon and go grab lunch and see the city.

It's a big place... but you have trouble remembering the name of it at times. But, that's probably the courage shot at the airport messing with you. There's a wonderful train station that you arrive at from the airport, avenues filled with skyscrapers, museums and theaters. Then there's parks carving a footprint of nature through the land of glass and steel, spotted with restaurants and theme parks. You've had a delicious lunch meal at a South Korean restaurant. A lunch meal is five times as expensive and twice as large as your mediocre lunch back home, but it's not every day that you're in a big city!

And then there's the convention center. There seems to be a few thousand outside the entrance, awaiting the formal firework kick-off at 3 pm. There's a surprisingly large amount of scantily dressed women and men, but most seem to have a more conventional dress code. Before you have time to start guessing at the ratio of cosplay vs casual, the fireworks goes off and the gates open up to the public.
