Alexa runs into a friend

Alexa wasn’t sure what she was going to do as she wandered the mall. She didn’t know why she decided to get away from her mom, but now that she was, she felt a bit awkward. She wasn’t really into shopping especially by herself. As she turned the corner she saw a familiar girl, leaning against the wall, seemingly bored. “Michelle? Is that you?”

Michelle looked startled at first, but her eyes landed on Alexa and smiled. “Hey, Lex,” Michelle said. “What are you doing here?”

“My mom took me here,” Alexa said. “She’s doing her own shopping.”

“Oh, I get that,” Michelle said. “My mom is doing the same thing. I don’t want to be rude to her, but I just don’t like shopping, you know?”

“Well, how about we hang out?” Alexa said, smiling. “I’m sure we can find something to do.”

Michelle grinned and wrapped an arm around Alexa. “Yes, please save me,” she said. “I’ll text my mom and let her know.”

Alexa nodded as Michelle sent a quick text and then grinned again. “Alright, Lex, what do you want to do?”
