Chapter 23 by unseenunheard

The last group of the night, Pete, Hannah, and JJ. How did they spend the last hours before dawn?

Love is in the air -- as are other things

The trio of Pete, Hannah, and JJ left the piano bar and got into JJ's car. They headed down the road with no specific destination, only seeing where the night would take them. In the front seat driving was Pete. In the back was his wife and Professor JJ. They quickly began pawing at each other, making sure the situate themselves so they could give a good show for Pete in the rearview mirror.
"Where to?" he asked the nuzzling pair behind him.
"Somewhere outside," his wife insisted, "I'm sick of being cooped up."
"I need something to drink," JJ said but soon realized what the others would think she meant, "I mean ****."
Pete let out a little laugh, "We just came from a bar."
JJ defended herself while her neck was nibbled on by Hannah's fangs, "I was so busy trying to get that guy," meaning bar owner Anthony, "to fuck me that I barely drank anything."
"Well we can stop at a liquor store and then figure out what we're doing from there."
Both women satisfied, they turned and gave their full attention to each other.

They made their way to the liquor store. It was one beacon of light in an otherwise desolate area. In the parking lot were just two other cars: A pick-up truck, and a muscle car that's clearly been handed down a few generations. A young man was talking to two young women who were standing near the hood of the muscle car.
"You sure you can get the beer?" one of the women asked the man.
"I told you I could. My brother let me borrow his license."
The first woman was clearly doubtful while the other woman appeared hopeful. The three vampires witnessed all this as the female vamps got redressed. JJ offered to go in alone into the liquor store. The married couple kept their eyes on the two outside the store.

"You're telling me that I can fight and die for my country, but I can't buy beer?!"
The cashier bearing the brunt of the rant was unmoved by this logic. He was a heavier gentleman, but that belied his ability to beat down anyone who made trouble in his store.
"Ralph, are you telling me you died for this country? Are you a ghost?"
"Er, no."
"Ralph, have you fought for this country?"
"No, but I could've. And I'm not Ralph. I'm Howie. It's on my license."
"Hey, Ralph, I went to school your brother. You're not him."
"OK, I'm not. But I'm 19. I should be able to buy beer!"
"I don't make the law, Ralph."
In frustration, Ralph took his brother's driver's license and turned around to the exit. Before he reached it he saw a recognizable face in front of him. "Professor?!"
"Hello, Ralph." He had a hard time believing what he was seeing. His professor was always someone many of the class crushed on, but seeing her there delightfully underdressed was a shock. "Having a little fun in the dorm tonight?" she asked him.
"I am, but SOMEBODY," he said raising his volume and turning to the cashier on the last part, "isn't letting me."
"Are those girls outside part of the plans for tonight?"
Ralph was kind of embarrassed that his college professor was getting to know so much about him, "Well, yeah. Maybe. One is my roommate's girlfriend and the other is her friend. Then we'd either go back to the dorm or to the Uplook."
"A perfectly reasonable night for a man such as yourself. Though I'd recommend the dorm instead of the Uplook, especially if you want them to stay the night. Let me help." She walked over to the cashier, grabbing a bottle of vodka as she passed it and put it on the counter. "This and that case of beer," pointing to the case Ralph had left there.
"*Sigh* Are you buying liquor for someone under 21?"
"Yeah," she told him menacingly
The cashier looked at the beautiful woman's unflappable face, "Fine."
If it weren't for the cameras everywhere she would have taken the cashier out, but she left some bills and handed Ralph his beer.
"Gee, thanks."
As they stepped out of the store he awkwardly thanked her again then said, "I guess, uh, wish me luck."
"Ralph, I guarantee those girls we be all over you tonight."
JJ got into the backseat of her care, and Ralph looked around for the two girls he came there with. He heard giggling voices. That led him to go behind the store towards the woods. "Raaaaaalph," they repeated in a sing-song manner. When he finally found them he could only see their eyes. Their red eyes. They stepped into the light and Ralph saw their clothes in shreds hanging off them. Bite marks were clearly seen on their breasts and necks. With fangs showing they told him, "You got the beer. Lucky for you we don't want that anymore."
In JJ's car Pete and Hannah were making out with each other with blood-smeared mouths.
"OK, you two."
"Hey, you're back," Hannah asked still on a bloodsucking high.
"Fine. He's a good student, so I figured I'd help him get fucked. And he gave me an idea where we can go. Let's go to the Uplook."

What's at the Uplook?
