Captain Bhanoa was handed a message from the comms officer and she read it before handing it to Cmdr Grater. The message was from H.M.S Firefly reporting that they had picked up a shadowing subsurface contact following them. The Rendevous would have to be somewhere else other than the present position. The navigating officer looked at the chart and pointed to a position. Captain Bhanoa nodded and the comms officer sent the coded message to Firefly who acknowledged.

Harinder knew that they would have the same problem at the new position with the Russian sub but the area that they had chosen should work. The new plan was for Firefly to use her helicopter to transfer the party to the island without stopping then Unison would collect the party when both the Firefly and her shadow were out of the area. Not wanting to leave anything to chance she ordered Unison to dive down to the cave entrance. They reached the cave and Captain Bhanoa ordered three divers into the cave.

Unison went deep and headed for the rendevous to wait for her pick up. Firefly arrived and only slightly reducing her headway her helicopter took off with the special team. Firefly knew that the typhoon class sub was too deep to pick up the helicopter. The helicopter completed its mission and headed back to the frigate while the team set up a temporary tent on the island. They watched as their old mothership sailed away hopefully followed by the typhoon. Cmdr Jonas ponder on why the Russian command would assign a ballistic missile boat as a shadow.

Two hours later Unison came to periscope depth and surveyed the island and Harinder saw the sun was setting. The comms advised her that the Russian satellite would pass overhead in twenty minutes. She ordered the sub to surface thirty minutes from now giving the satellite plenty of time to pass out of range. Cmdr Grater would lead the shore party to collect the team. The satellite passed and the Unison broke the surface and the lookouts took up position while the shore party loaded themselves into the dingy.

Unison submerged so just the periscope was visible and after thirty minutes the shore party returned and Unison surface just enough to take them back aboard. Once the Unison was secure she descended into the depths and headed back to the cave. Harinder and Helen had taken the team to the officer's mess and after formalities had been exchanged, Cmdr Jonas explained their mission and then went into the classified nature of the mission. U1226 had been believed to have been carrying stolen art and valuable items.

He then went on to say that with the discovery of a radiation spike it might be possible that the U1226 had been carrying radioactive material, If this was true then at the time of her disappearance the Nazi's were ahead in the nuclear race. Meanwhile, the Unison sailed on at six hundred feet and 12 knots back to the U1226. The divers had surfaced in the cavernous cave and after checking for radiation found a ledge that they could rest on safely. The cave was mostly in shadow but some of the underwater foliage gave off eerie light turning the cave green.

Once Firefly was out of range of the operations area she signalled London to inform them that the package had been delivered. The Russian submarine had given up the shadowing when Firefly entered the natural harbour of Scapa flow and turned back to await new orders. Unison arrived back at the cave and set into hover mode just short of the cave and the crew ready for diving operations. They had special anti-radiation dive suits so they could enter the U1226 but even then their exposure time would be limited. They had one spare suit so Harinder decided that a member of her crew would go as well.
