Hand Out Candy

You give one final yawn and shake your head.

"Okay, time get going," you say.

You rise from bed and start your day, going through your morning routine. You hit the head, shower (where you can't help but tease out your morning erection just a bit), get dressed, and make yourself a bit of breakfast before work.

As you fry up some eggs and bacon and flip on the coffee maker, you say out loud, "Maybe just a night in this year. The kids have earned it."

You think back to years past where you've simply left an empty bowl in front of your door with a note that says 'Take One Please' in it. A simple, if deceitful, way to appear as though you're participating in the holiday without actually having to spend the time or money handing candy out. You feel like it's only fair that you take a turn dealing sugar to the throngs of excited kids all dressed up and waiting for their sugar rush.

Besides, you've always felt kind of bad about short changing Trick-r-Treater's this way. You remember being a kid. You recall that surge of excitement as you approached the door, rang the bell, and gave your best 'Trick or Treat' with your bag held wide open, eager to add to your growing candy pile.

"Only fair," you muse aloud as you sip your coffee and much away at your breakfast.

You browse through the paper as you eat your meal. Seems there's a local mischief maker dressed as a clown that's been scaring random citizens as they come home from work. In some cases, it appears this clown has even gotten a bit handsy and lewd with his victims. You shudder because A) clowns and B) the idea that someone is taking your favorite holiday and going too far with it just rubs you the wrong way.

You check your watch and grumble about the time. After wiping your mouth and throwing your dishes in the sink, you head out to work.
