Finish up and go to work

A couple of years ago, at the birthday party of your wife, Mike told you about his new job at a startup insurance company. Some years earlier he left the other company where you met each other. And he was telling you this new startup was amazing and had incredible benefits, it also promised coworkers some kind of ownership deal through stocks. The deal was great, and Mike and their offer had convinced you to take the leap as well. It was your second bold decision. Again mostly powered by Mike.

So jump to now. You are sitting in the office. Working again with Mike.

Today you had a couple of meetings about the project your team had been working on. The last couple of weeks your team has worked on integrating a new product, PetSure, into the company's website and connecting it to the backend systems. Sigh. You're a nerd.

Today the company is going to go live with PetSure on the company's website. It is planned that from tomorrow on a national commercial will run and PetSure is expected to be huge hit, so both the site and the process of ordering PetSure needs to work flawlessly.

There's healthy pressure, but your team has tested all this thoroughly in a staging environment - so at least there is some time for coffee. Your coworkers have already walked to the coffee corner, while you are reading the latest status report that all systems should be updated around noon.
