Revelations
Derren's mother, Olivia, made a mistake and she very much regretted it. She should have figured that when she couldn't find Mia and went to ask her son where she was that his door being closed was a bad sign. She should have at least knocked. She had retreated back downstairs and was tidying up in the dining room just trying to avoid what she saw. When she heard the thumping of several feet coming down the stairs she knew it wouldn't be that easy.
"Hey mom. Sorry about what you saw me doing to your son just now." Miko, who as soon as she started bonding with Oliva started calling her mom, said.
"Uh, no it's okay. It's my fault for not respecting you guy's privacy. Still when you started calling me mom I thought you were just teasing me. I think now you might be a bit too serious." Olivia replied.
"Would that be a problem?" Miko asked innocently.
"I suppose not, but I worry you may be rushing things dear. A-also did you mean what you said back there? Being pregnant in High School is no joke." Olivia couldn't help but ask.
"If it's with Derren. I wouldn't have an issue." Miko said with a slight blush.
"By the way we're all sorry." Mia finally jumped in as she, Flo, and Eva stood behind Miko.
"Oh, like I said don't worry. I was aware you guys were all doing stuff like that. I'm not clueless just because I'm a mother. Quite the opposite in fact." Olivia said with a knowing smile.
"Okay, you can come down now you wimp." Mia said snarkily towards the stairs.
"Sorry mom." Derren said sheepishly.
"That's okay I understand you're going to do things with your girlfriends." Olivia said.
"Hey! Don't hide behind your girlfriends anymore! What's the matter with you!" Mia said disapprovingly.
"What? You'd want to face your dad if he walked in on us?" Derren pressed in the point.
"I wouldn't even have stopped. I'd have just told him to close the damn door." She said with her arms crossed, and spoke with a flippant tone.
"Um, if I can change the subject. I'd like to talk to you about this situation." Olivia interrupted. The concern was clear on her face.
"Uh, sure mom. What's going on?" Derren asked. He was also concerned now.
"Well I know your name is on them and that makes them your girlfriends, and, uh, **** I guess, but something feels off about it. It always has for me, but not to your father. Can you maybe tell me more about how this happened? And why do people feel it's okay when we shouldn't?" Olivia said looking kind of nervous.
"You don't think it's the protection do you?" Flo asked straight to Derren.
"We need to know." Derren replied.
"Mom, please hold out your arm." Derren asked.
"What? Why? Just please answer my question Derren!" Olivia said irked.
"Mom I can't answer until I confirm something, or rather I'll have an easier time explaining it when I'm sure I understand the whole situation." Derren said with all seriousness to his mother.
"Fine, if you'll be honest with me after." Olivia said as she held out her arm. Derren pulled a pen out of his pocket and wrote on his mother something harmless, but would confirm things for everyone:
Derren Smith's High School Friend
*Shing!*
A burst of blue light once again erased his words.
"Damn! Your mom is protected by a god!" Mia hollered.
"It would seem so." Derren replied.
"Wh-what was that?" Olivia asked stupefied.
"It's okay mom I'll explain it all now."
It took a few hours, but Derren and company had succeeded in recapping the events of the last month or so to his mother.
"Well it does feel good to know I'm protected by a god. I feel very comforted." Olivia said relived (Derren and the girls toned down the **** story substantially while emphasizing the romance).
"I wouldn't." Everyone turned their head in surprise to Eva who up the this point was quiet and also since she used I for the first time since becoming Eva.
"Ch-Chelsea?" Florence asked a bit shaken.
"No, no, I'm not Chelsea. You mortals may call me Dominia. Hello Derren, my dear." Eva, no Dominia, said with her unmistakable smile.
"Dominia! Didn't she give you your power!?" Mia stood up and shouted.
"Dominia! What? How?" Derren was mystified.
"Heehee, that's a good reaction. This body has been completely bent to your will. You completely control her. That means that right now, she is the strongest tether I have to this world by my power. So, I can pop in for a bit to say hi by channeling my essence into this body through my own power. That said my presence will be detected soon so I can't stay long." Dominia explained.
"I see, it's good to see you Dominia!" Derren said.
"Care to explain what you just said to my mother? I assume that was what you came here to discuss." Derren continued.
"Yes, I wouldn't have too much faith in the protection of these gods." Dominia continued.
"What? Why not?" Olivia said curiously.
"Mmm, yes, It's simple, those gods' rule isn't destined to last much longer." Dominia stated.
"Wait, if the gods aren't going to be around then who will preside over the world?" Florence asked.
"Well these gods will not be around for long, but a new god or gods will take their place. I know of at least one god ready to take their place though." Dominia explained.
"You?" Mia asked.
"No, him." Dominia said as she gestured towards Derren.
""""What! Derren!"""" Derren's girls and his mother yelled in unison. Derren didn't shout but was certainly looking towards the goddess with marked confusion.
"C-can you explain?" Derren finally got out.
"Well you see, I can't be a goddess if I no longer have control of my power. You remember your last visit with me, no?" Dominia asked coyly.
"How could I forget, but what does that have to do with anything?" Derren didn't know how having sex with Dominia would equal her no longer having control of her powers.
"It wasn't just what we did dear, it was how it happened. I am a goddess of control, I take and dominate. Yet, when it came to the mortal I shared a portion of my power with, I allowed that mortal to dominate me. The powers of the gods are forces unto themselves. If you betray their nature they'll turn their backs on you. My dominance was lost that day, and the most suitable candidate to claim it was the one that now controls me. As we speak your body is becoming a divine vessel that my power is pouring into. You will become more in touch with what a god could do with the power of dominance, and I will slowly lose it all. Once that occurs you will be able to break the current cycle and be a god king." Dominia explained in shocking detail what would soon transpire. The room was speechless for a few minutes as everyone tried to process what they just heard.
"Can I be your queen Derren?" Miko asked.
"Oh my god! Can't you read the room you idiot!" Mia barked back.
"Yeah, the way things are going wouldn't Mia end up as queen? She's going to be the head of the harem after all." Florence claimed, wildly missing the point in the process.
"No She isn't, I am!" Miko retorted.
"Both of you idiots shut up or I'll hang you from the ceiling by your tits!" Mia shouted.
"Told you." Florence whispered under her breath to Miko, much to Miko's chagrin.
"Now, are you telling me our boyfriend is going to be a god! What does that even mean! How do you date a god!" Mia turned her attention to Dominia.
"That is what I am telling you. It means that he will most definitely be targeted by the current gods as they will soon realize what's happening. When they do they'll be **** to stop him while he's still mortal. Finally, should he so chose he can make a pantheon of gods to serve under him or beside him. It's all on Derren from this point on really." Dominia explained.
"Well in that case, it is kinda exciting. You are going to make us goddesses right?" Mia asked Derren.
"I'm sorry I'm still trying to process the fact that I'm even going to be a god. I need a minuet."
Derren left the room. It was understandable that he had a lot on his mind. He went out to sit on the front porch, he needed the fresh air to calm him down a bit. He wanted to be left alone to process how in over his head he was at this point. Becoming a god was never part of his plans, he doubted he was cut out for it.
*Creak*
As he was thinking to himself he heard the front door slowly open on hinges clearly in need of some grease. He was a little upset that he was followed out here. He wanted alone time, and as much as he had grown to love the women in his life he wanted them to respect that.
"Mind if I sit here?" Derren heard his mother say.
"Mom! What are you doing?" He was surprised when his mother plopped down next to him.
"Derren, do you think you're the only one overwhelmed here. I honestly feel as though I'm about to have a panic attack. When I asked you what the hell was going on I didn't think the answer was going to be, your becoming a god! I mean how do you even be the mother of a god! When you become one do I have to pray to you! And how do I discipline you from now on, you can't ground god Derren!" True to her words Olivia did seem to be on the verge of losing it.
"Ha, wow I guess we're both overwhelmed. Sorry for acting up back there, and no neither you or dad need to pray to me. That would be awkward to me too." Derren smiled at his mother. Knowing that she was also a bit panicked by this somehow put him at ease.
"Good to know, now about punishing you..." She trailed off.
"Oh no, no, no! We don't need to talk about that do we?" Derren shot back.
"Oh yes we do, if I find out you destroyed half the universe you're going to wish it was the half I was in." Olivia jested.
"Hahaha, noted. Uh, thanks mom. This helped." Derren smiled at his mom and she pulled him into a hug.
"Anytime kiddo, we'll take all this one step at a time. Now why don't we go back in, the others are worried about you." She smiled back at Derren.
"Okay mom." The two of them returned to the dining room where everyone remained seated.
"Feeling better?" Florence asked.
"A little. You couldn't have eased me into this Dominia?" Derren asked the goddess.
"Eh, not my style! Besides I need to tell you something important. As your powers grow you will gain new abilities and you recently unlocked a new one, Proxy. With this power you can grant someone your power so long as they are acting as your proxy. In the case of written powers like yours we call these people scribes. With your current power you could only empower one scribe, but I figured you needed to know." Dominia explained why she wanted to talk.
"Well thanks for telling me that I suppose. How much longer do you have left here by the way?" Derren asked.
"Enough time for a goodbye kiss at this point." She said with a somewhat sad expression. Derren leaned over her and planted his lips on hers. She didn't fight for control and just melted into the moment as he embraced her.
"Goodbye dear." Dominia said as Eva's body started to glow a faint pink.
"One more thing. Derren, if you succeed, please save me from here." Dominia made her feelings clear with her parting words.
"Eh, where is Eva! Oh, master what are we doing down here?" Eva who was no longer possessed asked in confusion.
"You don't remember coming down stairs?" Mia asked.
"No, last thing Eva remembers Eva doesn't think master would want repeated in front of his mother." Eva responded.
"Wait she snuck in while we were doing it!" Miko exclaimed.
"Seems so." Florence shrugged.
"That crafty goddess." Derren said with a smile.
Just like that Derren's life once again took a turn for the impossible.
