The trekk

They both went down the isle between the seats in silence, Madeline taking point. As she went out the bus door a hand grasped Fredric wrist, he looked back to see who it was finding the gathering of girls staring back at him, the one holding him was a blond girl with a set of longing blue eyes.

She was cute they all were, but he knew they weren’t themselves around him and tore her grasp off him and headed out. As he headed out it looked like she would follow, but a friendly hand on her shoulder kept her from it.

The couple looked at each other knowing what probably was happening, Fredric wanted to joke to lighten the mood but could honestly not think of anything to diffuse it.

“Where to now?” Fredric settled with as the bus left them by the weathered sign.

“There should be a path here with a roadmap” Madeline said looking around, finding it on the other side of the road and pointed it out.

They both headed there with heavy grey clouds looming above, after a couple of minutes of inspecting the map they had their route to the society on the other side, it would be a good 5 hour walk. Madeline headed up first with steady steps with Fredric following suit. Didn’t take long for him to start to try and look around as he noted that Madelines shapely butt was like a magnet for his eyes. He couldn’t help to think that he shouldn’t look even though they were past the point of such shyness.

Fredrics cardio clearly was not up to par of Madelines pace as the bags started to feel real heavy after 3 hours, she had gotten ahead of him clear that she wanted to get their destination in a hurry.

Eventually she took a bag from him and started to loom with her figure behind him instead, stressing him along.

With only a few breaks to get some energy bars down, they eventually arrived 6 hours later and walked up to the sea side house they had found with a map they printed out a couple of days earlier, the old man could probably make a fortune if he sold the place even with some minor care. But it was rundown and overgrown, he however did not seem to mind, perhaps it was his poor vision that denied him that clarity.

They could find him with a cup of tea on the porch, squinting at the couple as they entered his property.

“Hello there” Fredric tried out of breath, trying to catch more air with his lungs as his body seemingly had not enjoyed the exercise.

“We are here for one of the boats you advertised, the small aluminum one.” Madeline continued a bit annoyed by Fredric's inability to speak quick enough.

The elderly man rose a bit unsteady and tapped on his clock, and stared at it. It turned out to not be a passive aggressive sign to tell them that it was late, instead the clock spoke up and mentioned that the time was 18:30.

“Hello.” He said as he walked forward to the fence of the porch and look out at them.

“I have it down by the boat house if you wish to take a look” he finished the sentence and again was squinting at them and then behind them.

“I do not have a boat carriage for sale” he said after a while and started to head down the path to them.

“Oh, we are not taking it away that way, we are taking it for a spin.” Madeline responded as they slowly followed the man. “It was said in the advert that it was sea worthy?”

“That is true, that is true” the frail elder agreed.
