Chapter 20 by Leviathan Leviathan

What did Recovery Girl do?!

Kickstart his harem, probably

"Deku-kun! I heard from Aizawa-sensei earlier. So you're staying with us tonight?" Uraraka beamed when she opened the door for the shocked-looking boy. "We have a spare futon if you didn't bring any, kero." Asui added.

Aw, drat... why is he so cute... Am I crushing on him? My face is already heating up just talking to him... Deku-kun looks so beaten up, too, I just wanna cuddle with that adorable toned body and comfort him so muchhh...

His Danger Sense was already on the case? Damn, Shinomori's Quirk was a ridiculous advantage in social interactions. Still, he couldn't help but blush, hearing how much she wanted to snuggle up with him. Maybe... maybe he could find a way, if he thought the correct thoughts and didn't go overboard.

Cuddling up with Uraraka-san's soft, pillowy body sounds amazing... maybe if she refused to let me sleep on a futon, and instead offered her bed- As usual, his Quirk was already on it before he even finished his thought. It was almost scary how accurately it predicted his thoughts.

"Um, actually, Tsuyu-chan, I don't think we have enough space for a futon... it would be a little cramped, right? With our desks in the way and all. And you do like to turn down the temperature a lot when you're about to go to sleep, he'll probably be really cold..." Uraraka began making her case, causing Tsuyu to idly tap her chin, a pose she often held when thinking or talking to people.

"Ochako-chan, what do you suggest we do then? There's only our beds besides a futon, and there's no space for him to bring his own, kero."

"W-Well... um, Deku-kun, would it be too uncomfortable to, erm... sl...sleepinmybedfortonight?" To say her face had gone red would be an insult to its burning hue. He could probably fry an egg if he cracked it on her cheek.

"I d-don't want to impose or anything, I don't mind a little cold-" Izuku tried to be polite, but she wasn't taking self-sacrifice for an answer. "N-No it's totally f-fine, I promise! There's enough space, t-the covers are thick and warm like a hotel's... there's no need to make you sleep on the floor just because of a condition you cannot control!" Somehow, her expression and embarrassment had given way to seriousness and insistence mid-sentence. She must have realized how bad it all looked from an outside perspective, for everyone to sleep in those comfy beds while he slept in a cheap futon due to circumstances he was born with.

"...You're a really sweet person, Ochako-chan. I hope no one takes advantage of your kindness some day, kero." After that cryptic sentence, the frog girl hopped out of the room, probably to get something to drink or brush her teeth. They still had some time left in the night to do their homework, talk, and otherwise have a good time before going to sleep.

"Deku-kun, why did you decide to become a hero?" Uraraka made idle talk as she finished up her English homework, getting ready to get started on her math one, which had even Izuku himself a little stumped now and then.

"I've... always admired All Might. Ever since I saw those videos of him saving dozens upon dozens singlehandedly, I've wanted to be like him. Saving people with a smile on my face, reassuring them that they will be alright, defeating evil wherever it may surge..." The boy gave an absent-minded, yet almost rehearsed answer - he had repeated the same words to himself over and over when he was but a mere Quirkless kid, and now he almost knew it by heart. "What about you, Uraraka-san?"

"Eh, me??? Erm... it's kinda embarrassing..." She fidgeted with her pencil, no longer focused on her homework.

...

...

"Really? You're becoming a hero for the money? I would have never guessed that!" He exclaimed in mild shock, much to her embarrassment, as she rubbed the back of her head over and over to hide the shame. "Well, y-yeah, sorta, kinda... ugh, I know, it sounds so bad to say it out loud... but... my family owns a construction company, y'know? We live in the boonies, and we barely get any work down there, it's not like in big cities where there's lots of villains rampaging and breaking stuff... N-not that I want villains to break stuff elsewhere! Just! You get what I'm saying, ahahah..."

She got up from her chair, getting a little closer to Izuku's part of the desk before leaning back on it. "Once I become a hero, I wanna use my Quirk to help their business, and help out with the money too! No matter what it takes, we'll live happily, eat lots of good food, and go see Hawaii or France one day!" Second time she swung from embarrassment to seriousness in the span of a few seconds. It was starting to get a little funny, if not for the tragic context of her motivation.

Now that he realized... the room was mostly covered in stuff he would think were Asui's belongings. Frog-themed portraits, frog-themed mirror, frog-themed desk and laptop, frog-themed clock... All of it very cutesy and, well, in-theme for the frog hero-in-training. And then only a few cheap-looking things were not themed after frogs, and thus were likely Uraraka's. If he tried to picture the room without anything frog-themed, it suddenly looked extremely plain and simple in his mind's eye. Did she have to live like that normally...?

Money... can be a good goal, too, huh?

"Once we graduate, we could start a hero agency together. We'd get government funding, and with how well we worked together back at the Battle Trial, I'm sure we could fulfill both our dreams at once!" Izuku barely thought this through as it came out of his mouth, but he meant every word regardless. He wanted to save people, and her and her parents were included. The way she lit up, though, seemed as if he just said something extremely embarrassing.

D-Don't look at me with those puppy eyes while asking for such a commitment so casually, Deku-kun... that's unfairrrrr...

"I-I'll think about it!" He could swear he could see smoke coming out of her head. "But I really, really, really appreciate the offer, Deku-kun. I always thought people would reject me for wanting to be a hero for the money... and you straight up jumped to help me instead. You're really swe-"

"You guys having fun?"

"A-Asui-!" Izuku quickly turned to see the door slowly opening, with the green-haired girl coming through with a small Mochi bag and three soda cans, one of them already cracked open. Those massive fully open eyes startled him for a second, as they're the first thing he saw when the door was only just starting to open.

"Please call me Tsuyu-chan." She left a lime-flavored soda can on his side of the desk, offering Uraraka the caramel-flavored one and setting the mochi bag between all three of them. Uraraka was already drooling just looking at it. "Sorry if I got your tastes wrong, I was mostly guessing, kero." Lime flavor for the green-haired one, huuuuh? That was a cute guess. "Let's take a snack break and finish our homework after. Math is harder on an empty stomach, kero~"

It still took them an hour to finish that damn assignment.

Time to sleep?
